This is just an interim measure until it's time for the Daily Update . I just had to do something until EJ returns. :)
Hi everyone.Great to see a couple of Chaffinches on the nest. I always thinks its hillarious when small birds land on an Osprey nest. I remember Radio Chaffinch very well from last year, and I seem to recall that the Cukoo was reffered to Cukoo FM :-) Nice to see that the clumps of snow have cleared from the nest.Paul.

Great to see the nest again, looking very comfy with all the grass growing forming a lining. The background snow reminds me of early April last year when snow obliterated the nest which merged with the background just after EJ had returned. Let's hope we don't get a repeat! Lovely photos, by the way. The camera seems particularly clear, or am I mistaken?

Good morning all. Looks as though the snow is thawing quite quickly now. Hopefully we won't get any more. I did feel for EJ on that snow covered nest last April. Still, I expect she has seen that a few times before. It looks like quite a nice bright day there today. Just need EJ to come and tidy up a bit now lol
I'm still getting intermittent problems with my PC freezing. It's such a pesky pest and my heart is in my mouth for EJ arriving back here and me not knowing it. Loads of Ospreys sightings reported by Alan and others. And a cheerful pied wagtail on the Rutland nest ! ...... don't get too comfortable little chap.
The sunny weather should help the ospreys arrive early.

I think there are a pair of Scottish crossbills squatting in the nest, am I right? I think they were there last year too.
Drat! missed them
Hi Cirrus - a 'not-very-clear' pic of the crossbills taken this morning!

Outstanding DJoan !!! oh just super. Thank you so much for that. Still wish I'd seen them for ''real'' though.
