Thanks, Alan. When we were there last Sunday, the volunteers thought it was about a week away from fledging, so they weren't far out. Forecast not great for the weekend, so good thing it didn't wait any longer.

They confirm that Mrs No-ring is at last flying freely and able to fish for herself. This must be true for all the females across the UK. Their long vigil is over and they can now get themselves into condition for the long journey ahead.
They also suspect that the elder juvenile has caught a fish.
