Evening all: Been out all day; now starting to think about dinner. Back later to catch up.
We have had the most beautiful sunshine with a temperature of 16c this afternoon.
Wendy, So sorry I missed saying earlier, Happy Anniversary. Hope you have enjoyed yourself today. Do have a great time shopping, eating good food and seeing the family. Take care on the drive down.
OG, I hope the electrician remembered to call back and you are both feeling happy about all the work done today.
Tiger, Thanks for the link. Enjoyed watching the videos.
Alan, Thanks for the news of bobblehead No. 2
Patricia, Sorry you have been ill. I hope it is not one of those coughs that lingers on and on.
Weather dried up late afternoon - had half hour of sun just before it set!
Tiger - thanks for that amazing Osprey collection on BBC.Patricia – so sorry that you were so ill over the weekend – and still coughing.
GET WELL SOON!
Dibnlib – not advisable to visit Tokyo right now – hope your Godmothers DiL will stay safe.
Brenda – envy you today’s sunshine and warmth – I’ve felt cold all day today. Electrician got here about 4:30 and took longer than expected because he had to use a new run of cable where panels had been moved. Everything properly switched and tested – even have electronic display panel switched to English (had been left in German!). Final test will be how well we generate tomorrow – was too late to tell when he left this evening. Company will probably phone tomorrow to ask for final payment that we had withheld – bet they won’t be late with that call!
Been watching Lily and family – 3 videos from yesterday and playing live tonight. They are amazing and adding so much to knowledge of life of Bears in the den. Hope really is a wonder, acting as second Mum even though she is still nursing alongside the new cubs.
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
Hi all. Just caught up with news.
Patriacat - so sorry to learn that you have had a nasty virus - it tends to last for about a fortnight so hope you are beginning to feel a little better.
I'm not a dog owner but it seems to me that it is common sense to go prepared and pick up your dog's poo. I know it isn't a pleasant job but it is for the good of the rest of us and it makes me cross that people can be so thoughtless and irresponsible when they don't do it. Those of you who are responsible obviously make sure you have the necessary equipment to deal with same.
Managed to go to the gym this morning but couldn't quite manage my usual number of lengths - busy pool and you are fighting against the movement of the water from other swimmers. Had shopping delivered this afternoon so spent it packing it away - exhausted afterwards and just flopped, mind you, in between getting dinner.
Heron77(Paul) - thanks for the pic of EJ lovely to see her
Alan - went to the webcams first and saw that Mrs. Norfolk had two babies - great , Managed to get a few pics of her feeding them.
Been a bit of activity and noise coming from Lily's Den and have managed to capture a few pics.
Great news about the 4month baby plucked alive from the rubble and reunited with her dad - it gives a glimmer of hope. Its still precarious out there because of the threat from the nuclear reactors but hopefully with international help they will bring the situation under control.

RSPB Giving Nature a Home
Auntie, thanks for the links and will have a look at them soon.
Cirrus - nice to see you back with us and hope you manage to log on successfully again.
jsb - nice to know when the LG webcam is coming on line again.
Feeding time for two little bobbleheads.
According to the clock it is 9 days 18hrs and 15mins to go - whoopeeeeeeeeeeee
Evening all. Had grandson down this morning (complete with large appetite and small load of laundry). Took him home this afternoon, then went to say hallo to Miss Molly. Didn't take any carrots so she wasn't too sociable! Gorgeous breezy sunny day with all the hills as green as Ireland and the wild mustard and lupins gearing up for spring. Hung around the ranch for a while and watched hawks on the lookout for dinner.
OG: Saw just two whales yesterday - and then only as they were disappearing over the horizon; total for yesterday was 14. Today they got in 6 hours before the wind came up and saw 15, which makes 160 for the season so far. Calves won't start showing up until early April. Hope your test launch of roof equipment goes well. Laughed at your description of workmen sitting in the van looking at the roof and waving their arms (probably figuring out how to fix it)!
Alan: We have two Panasonics; same model, one smaller size. No trouble with one at all or most of our other Panasonic equipment. Maybe someone dropped the box this one was in?
Cirrus/jsb: Hi there! Thanks for asking/answering question about LG webcam.
Wendy: Happy anniversary!
patriciat: Welcome back to the land of the living - do take care.
dibnlib: Good that godmother's relatives in Japan are all OK.
Lynette: Whenever I took Oro out for walk around our neighbhorhood, took along a garden spade to pick up the necessaries! Charming! I hate unpacking groceries (hate shopping for them too). The only thing that's worse is when OH puts them away - then I forget what I bought coz it's never in the "right" place! Wow. Only 9 days to go!?
Thanks all for pix and posts. Have a good Wednesday.
Annette: Are you watching Rachel Maddow on MSNBC or Anderson Cooper on CNN? It's breaking really bad in Japan right now.
Wendy: I've probably missed you, but have a wonderful trip!!!
Patricia: I'm very sorry that you're so ill. Wish I could help. Take very good care of yourself. Here's a flower for you.
Diane: Just checked CNN and it's Anderson Cooper with More Bad News about another fire (or some development) and evacuation of workers (not sure which workers at this point). Have been listening to NPR most of the day and PBS this evening and the situation certainly seems "fluid" as media types like to say. What's really awful is that those 50 people inside the plant trying to control the problem are probably getting lethal doses of radiation. Jim Walsh just noted that those same 50 people are working 24/7 on 6 nuclear plants, four of which seem to be barely under control; his point: Where is the International Atomic Energy Agency in all this? On a completely different note - and I even feel guilty mentioning it - just stepped outside and the air is redolent with the heady perfume of jasmine. Positively intoxicating.
EDIT: Diane: CNN.com is reporting that workers have returned to the plant after evacuation order was lifted; meanwhile, CNN telly is covering a live news conference (in Japanese; no translation right now) under the headline: New Fire at Nuclear Plant: Workers have suspended operations!!! Anderson Cooper et all still asking which workers have left (or come back, or.....?) So who know? Not me; I'm off to bed.
