Evening all: Been out all day; now starting to think about dinner. Back later to catch up.
Margo: Welcome back! Sorry you're feeling so rough. Hope it vanishes at roughly the speed of an Osprey grabbing a fish :-)Everyone: I meant to say this much earlier, and sorry for not mentioning. The LG cam shows on Google Chrome and Internet Explorer. It doesn't show on Firefox 4.0 RC (Release Candidate) at the moment. Hope this helps.
Paul.

Started dreich and drizzly, turned out quite bright with thin cloud. Tidying and packing today. Cleaner here now. Good to see some Osprey sightings - even arrivals? - reported elsewhere.
Chloe – I had been drying my Amaryllis out after each winter flowering season – so will now try keeping it watered through this year and see what happens next. I am currently letting its leaves die down and will then cut them off.
Alicat – are those baby Hummer names Japanese? Nice gesture if they are.
Brenda – re rescue teams. I think Sussex team were part of the combined team sent out by the UK government from Manchester at the weekend. Team which have been sent back took themselves over there from Scotland to see what they could do – apparently without any consultation or support arranged. So far as I know, official UK team are still there.
Lynette – nice to see the Galahs on their cam – usually just Sulphur Crested Cockatoos when I look in!
AQ – all that stuff going on in Adelaide sounds very confusing! Hope life will settle down as we approach the weekend!
Annette – dirt under fingernails indicates real gardening – pleased you are enjoying your remodelled garden as well as the Mission rose garden.
Diane and others – Eagle-Eye has been enjoying his cards and good wishes! He doesn’t get many cards by post, so it means a lot to him.
Diane – I had only made a vague reference to weekend away so you hadn’t forgotten anything! We are going to North Berwick (East of Edinburgh) for a Bird Conference on Saturday. I wouldn’t get ready early enough to go just for the day, so we are setting off Friday morning and staying at a lovely Guest House which we have used before. We shall then stay Saturday night too and make a return visit to the Scottish Seabird Centre nearby on Sunday before returning home. I understand Gannets etc are all returning to that part of the coast. Solar firm phoned this morning for the final payment!! Thanks for finding the report of the two dogs being rescued – I wonder how many family pets will have been lost.
Wendy – pleased you arrived safely and hope you are enjoying Westonbirt today.
Jay-me – welcome, and I hope you have a trouble-free year watching the Ospreys!
Heather – I hope you are having a good final day with “The Vikings” – I seem to remember them visiting last year too. Have a great weekend with your daughter and children, and a good visit to your brother next week - even if you miss Osprey arrivals here, you may spot some on their way over!!
Margo – welcome back, but what a terrible “holiday” – rain, no carnival and both unwell! I hope you will soon feel much better, with Billy Whizz to cheer you up!
Joan – great to see the nest again – hope snow is all gone when EJ arrives!
Paul – thanks for your wonderful post, and providing fishing water and nest – what more could an Osprey want?!
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
Thanks original goldfinch have to say Billy Whizz did cheer me up slightly when we came home last night. Solar firm were quick off the mark folr your final payment, never mind how long you waited for it to be put right.
Heron 77 thanks for your thoughts and you just keep the comedy going, I know it will make me feel better.

OG meant to say, I don't cut my Amaryllis leaves off at all. I leave them to their own devices and remove any dead ones from time to time just to tidy them up.

Thanks ALICAT when I read the names this morning I did wonder but how nice they have done this.
WENDY Friend had a Bassett and Phoebe was dead slow, stop on our walks. Sadly she was put to sleepa year ago at the age of 10. she had peritonitis and was not going to get better. So for you a pic of same friends Boxer (she has 2) after he had jumped into a bog to retrieve his ball, and for your daughter a pic I found on Scotlands weekly pics and posted to friend.
Margo : Sorry you had such a troublesome holiday. Hope you feel better soon.
