Well, this could be quite optimistic on my part, because all I can see on the LG video is a bright blue screen - it was okay until about two minutes ago. Was there a thunderstorm in the area because I thought I saw a flash a moment or so before it went?
Hey Barbara Jean: I saw your entry on the Diary and confirmed that when I first logged on I thought I saw a white blob, which you thought was EJ.
The video is back to normal black now.
Incidentally, if you're on before me and want to start the Daily Update, go ahead - I don't have a monopoly on it! :-)
I could see her white breast in the darkness. I checked several times during the night hours and she was alone ont he nest all night. At about 4:15 I saw her eating the fish she slept with all night . Now it appears she left the nest.
Formerly known as Barbara Jean
Well now, I swear I can see a faint white blob on the post to the left of the nest! And now I can see one in the nest near the bottom of the post. I'm sitting here with a magnifying glass peering at the screen. And I only had one small glass of wine tonight!
Ok. Was wrong about possible bird on post (can still see blob but maybe it's something left over from the old cam mount .) Still trying to get a fix on the white blob on the nest - is there a moon there tonight that might be playing tricks on me?
OK. No birds (or blobs) on nest! Sorry for confusing everyone!
Annette I watched several times throughout the night and I saw a white patch on the right far side of the nest. At 4:15 it was light enough that I could just see EJ eating. It was semi dark but I could make out her head going down to get a bite and then back up. Shortly after that I couldn't see anything. And I didn't have any wine LOL
Hey Barbara Jean: Yes, when I first logged on the blob was on the right side of the nest and then the video went for those few minutes. I was just posting on FB (nobody else around but us chickens right now!) that I had to use my husband's computer for a few minutes and was amazed at the clarity of his new monitor. Makes me feel like I'm peering through a mist on this laptop
That would be the remains of the fish EJ didn't eat last night, Barbara Jean. Mallachie was eating on the nest latish last night and was joined by EJ . When Mallachie had had enough she flew off leaving EJ noshing the fish but EJ did not finish it. ( I think she was waiting for Rothes to give her some as she waited with the fish tail in the tree the other eay for so long - Monday I think it was. Yes, I know, it's just me doing the 'human thing' but it does seem strange to me. Maybe you know all this, in which case please excuse my ramblings. Feeling emotional about Rothes going before EJ) . EJ was alone all night in the nest then. We could see her white head and breast shining somewhat in the ambient light even in the darkness.)
Morning Cirrus: Barbara Jean must've gone to bed (she's in Wisconsin). Looks like it's going to be sunny at LG today.
Night folks. I'm off to bed. Nest still empty. Someone should be showing up soon - ya think?
Happy viewing.
