Loch of the Lowes - 2011

Nest empty at the moment but at least the weather looks a bit better today.  So glad to hear Lady has had breakfast.  What an amazing osprey, able to fish in the very worst of weathers.  Took me a while to find the cam this morning as they have changed things, was getting very annoyed but have found it now.

Although its windy, it looks a gorgeous day at LotL just now. 

I know it was mentioned here a couple of days back about the idea of weekly threads for the Lowes.  I quite agree with that idea, especially since it makes it easier to reffer back to events of the recent past.

Like Margo I have been getting extremely frustrated with the SWT web page and connection to the cam.  I even filled in their questionnaire before I had the problem!!  Thanks to jsb for a link that actually works.  The clarity of the web cam isn't that brill.  Just wondered whether it was part of their copyright issue, putting off anyone who might try to capture photos for their own use.  Just a thought.

I didn't see the second bird arrive, but there were two on the nest.  I am sure Lady was at the back with another mantling in front.  Lady flew off and the 'intruder' followed.  Nest empty.

Good mroning Sheila FE glad it was not just me having trouble with the cam.  Very frustrating all round and such a shame they have had to take this stance.  I think it will probably put a lot of people off.  i see on the news blog that they are appealing for new members.  Wonder how many they will get this year.

The Lady of the Loch is on her nest just now, looking around her surroundings in the beautiful Perthshire sunshine.  A champion fisher, able to see off even the most persistant of intruders; Marge is a Super Osprey :-)

I'd love to be able to take a picture to promote the beauty round the world.

SheilaFE: I am glad my link helped. Speaking of links, I hope I am correct, in believing that posting a link does not infringe copyright. Nevertheless I would refer you to the LotL blog 'Troubleshooting' that discusses the picture quality issue and what they expect the quality to be in the future, without posting another link. There are also other blogs with interesting subject matter.

Also on another SWT issue, I have received a request in the post, for a donation for funds for badger conservation.

Lady Marge, left the nest for a few moments, leaving the remains of a big fish.  Then quickly flew back, mantling.  She's very watchful now.  Not an Osprey to get on the wrong side of :-)

The Lowes cam is now moving about.  Stunning scenary.
