Welcome, Josie. Everyone here is a friendly bunch, as I expect you've realised if you've been following all these events/blogs. We're all emotional today, I think. Goodness knows how bad we'll be when our 'Girls' actually leave.
Have looked at the number of members we have now, and it won't be too long before it reaches the 200 mark! Come, on folks, join in if you're reading this and you've not joined us. (It's really easy to join in and you can do as much or as little as you like)
Garten paid the nest a brief visit just now but has just flown off. 8.39pm
Margobird - thanks so much, after 2 years and seeing 5 consultants problem was identified and a minor op put it right within a few hours, so I am so relieved. Now we can look forward to full nights sleep at long last.
Yes I was overjoyed at seeing EJ with the girls, they have been such an incredible family, they really have to make it to Africa, and EJ and Odin will return next year, and in the near future we will hear that our girls have turned up and rearing there own chicks. All the love we feel for them has got to keep them safe. XX
Snowbird - I was really happy for you, that your husbands problem has been put right and you can both look foreward to getting a good nights sleep.
I think you put it so well just how we all feel about EJ, Odin and the girls, a lot of tears will be shed over EJ going soon and the girls hopefully will be with us for a couple more weeks or so and please, Daddy Odin ,stay with them until they leave..........not like last year when Nethy and Deshar were left on their own and were quite obviously bewildered and couldn't understand why they were alone and no fish to eat anymore.
Hi. Is anyone still around on this page?
Barbara Jean:Don't know what happened with that double Daily Update (sounds like a vitamin!). Yours wasn't there when I started mine, which was at 5:30 - I notice your first entry on the Update you started was 5:49 - they must've crossed in the e-mail, so to speak.
Testing, testing....
great stuff on the picture Annette, came out a treat.
Annette, No problem !! I just thought you may not have been able to start the thread so I did it for you.
I was out most of today and missed EJ's goodbye's. From reading other posts is looks like it was very touching. It brought a tear to my eyes. These birds have distinct personalities and I am sure they have emotions too. She knows her time to leave has come and she may never see them again. Her parting actions are to be sure her daughters are well fed. I wish her a safe journey and hope she will honor us with her presence again next year. !!

Thanks so much for your kind words, problem identified at last after numerous consultations, within a few hours and minor op he was on his way home. After 2 yrs of severe ear pain and discharge it is such a relief that it's over.
Just looked at Rothes flight path, she is certainly on course, as we would expect, (passing not too far away from us). Lindybird not sure about cheering me up your ode set me off, lol- it was so lovely.
Thank you Lorraine, it is such a relief, his severe ear pain and discharge has been dreadful, especially when 4 Consultants/ doctors miss the problem. Anyhow all behind us.
Oh I so agree with you, it will seem a long 7mnths. Last year was so upsetting first the wee one, then Desher and Nethy. I still think it's possible Nethy may have survived and lost her tracker, wouldn't it be wonderful if she came back.
How about Rothes- what a girl. Great thing about this year is that they all seem well able to take care of themselves. Wasn't it heartbreaking to see EJ alone on the nest yesterday after feeding Mallachie and Garten. I know i'm repeating myself but I really wish the whole family would migrate together. X
