Morning all: Here's to a good week for everyone. Check out latest pages of last week's thread to see great pix by OG of a kestrel on a road sign and a signpost for migrating birds and Gary's photos of the lovable Toffee plus his Toffee-proof technology. Just had dinner and managed to turn perfectly lovely piece of halibut into shoe leather! Hate it when that happens, but was busy watching weather forecast. Desk is looking cleaner - can actually see the surface now. Take care all!
Arrived home and just had a superficial read of the posts – will read in detail tomorrow but try not to be too verbose with replies!
Had a very good day – some detail of that tomorrow too.
Both tired now.
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
Just caught up with everyones news, so forgive if I don't mention you all but thanks anyway.
Alan - thanks for the link to the other Osprey cam, I hadn't got it, and what a lovely capture of the peregrine.
OG - forgot to say super captions of young swan and the lapwing. Glad you had a nice day yesterday with family.
Phoebe's new nest - have we got a link for it or is it the same one as before, anyone???
Been a very cold , wet, grey, miserable day down here. Its supposed to be getting a little warmer. Roll on the summer!

Margobird - always nice to have OH home after a work trip. I know my OH use to travel a bit quite a few years back and he was away at least 2 nights a week.
Diane - watched Primeval too - like that sort of programme
OG - cute of the dunnock
Wendy - hope OH is feeling better soon
Dibnib, Annette, and anyone else I have forgotten, thanks for news. A few pics coming of of Lily and Hope and the two youngest, particularly Lily and Hope playing.
Diane what a lovely colouful golden finch.
Alan - just tried original link and nest came up with Phoebe on it.
News just in of another earthquake in Christchurch, New Zealand. Tho' 6.3 it has caused more damage & deaths than the earlier 7.0 quake. Reports of people trapped in buildings.
Yes, Annette, a month before the end of their season the Japanese whaling fleet has given up - “to ensure the safety of crew members’ lives, of assets and of the research fleet”. They only killed 172 whales, well short of their 900 target.
Further news on NZ earthquake which struck at 12.50 pm local time. Extensive damage, power cuts, fires. Police evacuating Central City. Multiple deaths, including 2 buses crushed by falling buildings. City has run out of ambulances, police using squad cars to transport injured. Christchurch hospital is in operation. Level 3 emergency declared. Aftershocks of 5.6 recorded. Workers stuck on the 12th floor after stairwell collapsed.
AQ: Just saw the news about the earthquake when I logged onto CNN.com. Doesn't look good to say the least! Back later.
Evening all: OK, so OG is back home, and Margo's hubby too. I always like it when I know people are safe back where they belong!
Wendy/Gary: Hope your respective OHs's health hiccups are sorted out soon.
Alan: Good grief, more eggs in Phoebe's nest? She doesn't let the grass grow under her feet, does she.
AQ: That 6+ pointer must've hit in just the right (wrong) place to do that much damage. I'm sure we'll get telly coverage later. Seems like there have been quite a few 5+ pointers in the part of the Southern Hemisphere in the last week...
Watching Antiques Roadshow (the U.S. version) while doing small laundry load; then off to bed. Take care all and have a good Tuesday.
