Hi,
Can anyone tell me whether or not Loch Garten has been broadcast on Countrytracks yet - i really do hope not as would love to see the programme to see how things have progressed at Loch Garten over the years!
Happy Days :))
I don't think so. I've asked a few times but no reply :-( We're off to LG at the weekend so I will try to remember to ask and post here if I get an answer.
Make the most of today because, unlike Sky+, there isn't a rewind button.
Country Tracks has a page on the BBC website, though it doesn't mention anything Scottish coming up.
Thanks guys!
I have been checking the BBC website as well but have been away for a while so could have missed it!
Thanks Paula, if you could remember to ask and post it would be very much appreciated!
When I was at LG yesterday I asked about Country Tracks – I'm sorry but they don’t know when it is to be aired.
Ian did say that Ben Fogle was brilliant; that he made sure he spoke to all the staff there and spoke to all the members of the public as well. He said he was THE nicest “tv person” he’d ever met. I asked what they filmed and he said he spent t a lot of time in the centre and then went down to the forward hide and he doesn’t know what they filmed there. He did spend a long time at LG so hopefully it’s not just a 2 minute feature.
Sorry I can't tell you any more :-( Just have to record each week and fast forward each episode until we find it. I missed the first few and it wasn't on last week's show.
Thanks for enquirins Paula - i'll just keep an eye out on the bbc website and let you know when i find it!
Hope you had a great time at LG - i'd love to visit one day but it is a bit far from ys here, will just have to visit Glaslyn i think!
Now don't quote me on this but.....
I'm watching today's Country Tracks; they're in Northumberland. Next week, according to the synopsis, they're in Perthshire so I'm guessing that the week after next - the 30th (ooh, my birthday!) they'll be at Loch Garten. They appear to be moving up the Country each week and I'd say next stop after Perthshire would be the Cairngorms. I know Ben Fogle went to the top of Cairngorm the day after filming at Loch Garten. Keep your eyes peeled!
I watched Country Tracks on BBCi last night. Having grown up in that area it was extra special to me. We haven't been back there for about 20 years but will be going to Keilder next Summer when, hopefully, their Ospreys return.

I have just had a look on the Country Tracks page on the BBC website and this is what they say about next weeks programme:
"Joe Crowley goes on a Highland journey, starting in the wilds of the Craigvinean Forest and ending in the beautiful surroundings of Loch Katrine.
En route he walks a stretch of the Rob Roy Way, camps wild on the shores of Loch Tay, and goes on the trail of one of Britain's biggest birds of prey, the red kite.
Along the way, Joe looks back on the best of the BBC's rural archive from this extraordinary part of the world."
This could be an interesting programme and the red kites may be of interest to LG Bloggers?!
Also I have ntoiced that the presenters tend to rotate and Ben Fogle last took us to East Anglia, this week Ellie Harrisson was in Northumberland and as stated above it will be Joe Crowley in Perthshire! You may well be correct that the following week will see Ben Fogle in the Cairngorms - watch this space...
We will just have to watch them all and make sure we catch the Loch Garten one.
I will enjoy the Red Kite one and seeing Loch Katrine again as we haven't been there for about 8 years.
Arggghhhh....
Synopsis for next week's programme is about Western Cumbria! So, still no word about LG then. I hope we didn't miss it at the beginning of the series. I missed a few not aware that it was on :(
