At 1.30pm on Friday 3rd April 2009 a new male osprey arrived at Loch Garten and began to woo EJ who has had a difficult time at Loch Garten since she arrived on June 16th 2003 having been evicted from her own nest.
At the time we said that we would give the new male time to settle in before passing judgent. As the season darws to a close maybe it is the time to say what Odin has come to mean to you and how he compares to previous Loch Garten males like OVS, Henry and Ollie?

I have thoroughly enjoyed reading this thread about Odin, no wonder he is called "The Magnificant", the photos are all brill to!!! reading both EJ and Odin's history certainly brings a tear to the eye!
Everyone has talked so highly of him, and I have found out so much more about the past years by reading this thread. What I have seen of him since joining here in May is this-
O. - Outstanding
D. - Diligent
I. - Impressive
N. - Nurturer (Not sure if that is a word) buts its the only 'N' I could think of.
Both EJ and Odin certainly know how to work their way into the hearts of all who follow and watch them thats for sure, they have collected yet another devoted Fan Club Member in me, and I know by the end of August I will have serious withdrawal symptoms when they leave to head south.
PS: I cannot even take a shower without thinking of Odin, I just thought of another 'I' when I was in the shower - Invincible!!!!

Mary I am glad you enjoyed this thread. It shows the value of long running threads.
Tiger I am so glad that I found those threads on EJ and Odin, as it fills in a bit of the history especially when members mention things that have happened in the past but dont say the full story. Hopefully once I receive Roy Dennis's book I will learn a little more about these wonderful birds.
