At 1.30pm on Friday 3rd April 2009 a new male osprey arrived at Loch Garten and began to woo EJ who has had a difficult time at Loch Garten since she arrived on June 16th 2003 having been evicted from her own nest.
At the time we said that we would give the new male time to settle in before passing judgent. As the season darws to a close maybe it is the time to say what Odin has come to mean to you and how he compares to previous Loch Garten males like OVS, Henry and Ollie?

Just bringing this to the first page. This pic kind of sums up Odin for me. A great husband and father. Truly a Super Osprey.

Warning! This post contains atrocious spelling, and terrible grammar. Approach with extreme edginess.
Love that picture Paul.
Paul as I am going to call you now thanks for the pic of our super family. Wonderful, wonderful Odin, magnificent Mum EJ and those three gorgous youngsters. Still looking at the nest but I don't know what I am expecting to see lol.

Just love your picture of Odin presiding over his family, Paul. Thanks very much. Super-Odin!!
Paul - Love the picture. What a magnificent bird. He proved himself to be a great mate for our dear EJ, last year despite fishing line problems etc. Back again this year and has more than risen to the challenge, even putting on the 'Odin Show' for us. I have fingers and toes crossed for next Season for both of them.
I just loved the way he took his duties as father so seriously - here is my favourite pic:
-
----looking on as EJ feeds the first hatched this year. I also have many pics of him sitting smugly on the eggs, very happily.
When I am busy and OH stands behind watching like that, I turn to him and enquire "So, am I doing it right?" - obviously EJ is much more tolerant than I am!
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
Ha Ha Ha! OG !
I am with you there Goldfinch!!! That has to be the best picture of Odin Lindybird. Brilliant!!!
