Weekly Chat, Sunday February 6, 2011

Hi everyone.

Welcome to another week.  A week that brings us closer to the return of the Ospreys.  Hooray!

Happy Sunday!

  • Alan that is a horrendous price you are having to pay for Hamish's ointment, someone is making a lot of money.

  • Hello Everyone!   Not been on yet today, as sooo busy:  Went shopping this morning, and then off to the Vets this afternoon for Dog's checkup.   Buzz was very suspicious of the new vet at the practice, but they soon made friends.  Apparently he has lost weight lately but I said that was because we had cut down on his treats... we don't like to have 'fat' dogs, so as soon as he looks a little bulgy in the middle regions, there are no more toast crusts from me!  He has also worn down his back teeth - but then, he is always chewing sticks when out for a walk.  As he's moulting a lot at the moment, I commented that we were probably leaving half of him behind in the surgery!

I feel a little better each day, but am progressing so very slowly that we have now asked the family to only come for the day on Saturday, instead of staying the whole weekend, otherwise I think I could not cope at present.  Went to M & S this morning for cakes and goodies, so I don't have to bake any.

You have all written so much today, I can't reply to All, but have enjoyed reading!

  • Hi eveyone.

Weather has been a mixture of dreich and occasionally slightly less dreich here.  Of course as you should all know by now, in west central Scotland it only rains twice a week.  Once for three days, and once for four days.

Thanks to all for your updates and pictures.  Sorry I've not posted for the last few days but I felt a bit lethargic.  I'm feeling a lot more energetic now though:-)

    Happy Friday!

  • Hello all!  Thank you for your 'welcome' messages - I must try not to spend quite as much time at the computer - that is, until nesting time----

Margo - if anything would get me down the road to LG it would be to see you !     I am so happy that you got your wish to become a volunteer. We are not planning any holidays in the Summer this year, so no excuse not to motivate myself. I can't drive, so will have to sweet talk OH on a non fishing day. OG described what I am missing very inspirationally. Dear OH looks at me with a pitying and puzzled expression sometimes, presumably when I am looking a tad blankly at him as he tells me about his exploits on the loch or river. We are hiring a canal boat this year  together with eldest and his family, starting our journey with the Llangothlin (? spelling?) Canal. That will bring me a little closer in more ways than one to the water!!  We have been once before and really had a wonderful and very relaxing holiday. That is, until OH fell in. Son shouted for OH to grab a rope and jump onto the bank  'When I tell you' .  We were, if memory is correct, in something called a winding pool. Anyhow, OH being a bit deaf didn't hear the last four words and jumped just as Son turned the boat away. It was all a wee bit scary but water was shallow and whisky was to hand for remedial purposes. Regards to all and thankyou for the posts

  • Hi everyone. Don't want to "dump and run" but here is a short video clip I took today:)

  • GARY: She is gorgeous!!! Still totally jealous.

Hi Everyone: Sunny then dull and rainy up here on Speyside today. Gym in Inverness and then coffee in Inverness. Like to be out at the moment as husband is under pressure to assess people in the company he works for  as they are looking to cut the number of staff out on the road. Not what he signed up for but the world has changed but it is not a nice situation to be in. Even harder as the guys out there have become good friends.

Hoping for a nice walk in the Cairngorms tomorrow but will wake up and see what the weather is up to.

Daisy May is very happy with her new bed and so far has resisted eating it.

  • Thanks Gary. Great vid.

  • Wendy, not too late. Do it while OH is distracted...     Sorry about his work situation. Not a nice position to be in.Enjoy the walk tomorrow if the weather is good. Meant to say earlier how good DM looked in her new bed

Alan, thanks for the pic. Great to see one there.

  • Gary: If only but a first class ticket would be soooooo..expensive. My cats flew up excess baggage it was a heated hold but only an hour and a bit from Heathrow. But to fly that far it would have to be the best.

First proper bed she has had a matress type one before she totally loves it and not eaten the sides...yet.

No not a nice position and he takes it all a bit personally but all the guys out on the road like working for him and not the main office which is 600 miles away.
