Morning all: Long day at the rose garden - poor Robert who supervises the volunteers has been fighting off a bug and a couple of us stayed on longer than usual to help him clean up stuff. I'm sure I'll be stiff tomorrow. Not as many folks showed up as last year and some of the beds were pruned by city employees which means we'll have to go over those beds again since they did a fairly perfunctory job.
Watching Mad Men (Netflix rental video of first season). Great viewing when you're too tired to think. Take care all and have a nice Sunday.
Evening all.
Happy birthday Lynette (what's left of it!). Hope you will be having a lovely meal which you don't have to cook.
Thanks to all who have posted lovely pics. You are all very clever.
Took Tweed for his booster vaccination, followed by a walk. He's now not like himself at all, not wanting to walk and difficult to tempt with sausage. Very worrying. He has a competition tomorrow but certainly won't be going if he hasn't perked up by morning. OH is convinced it's a reaction to the injection but I'm worried that he may have picked something up on his walk.
Dibnlib: Replied to your e mail.
My pheasants are doing the paoring up thing...we now seem to have one male instead of 10 and he has about 12 ladies. As i feed them twice a day he knows how to give a girl a good time.
Good session at the gym did a mile and a half a spin class and a swim. Tried your tip for counting lengths but I still failed. They are trying to get their act together as a couple of improvements today.
Read all the chat but I think there were 4 new pages between trip out and return so no chance of replying to everything. Have enjoyed everyones pictures and general chatter.

Patriciat - hope Tweed improves keep us posted. They're awful for picking up rubbish out and about.
First of all, thanks for all your birthday wishes and the card - great one Brenda.
Alicat - lovely of the eagles. Managed to get the cam up this morning, very early there so could only just see the nest. Now trying to get it but it says there is an error and won't come up but will keep trying.
Lily and Hope are resting with some fidgiting going on. Phoebe is as attentive as ever.
Opened dau's card this morning and inside some money and an invitation to go and have a manicure so did that this afternoon. What with a new hair do! and nails! what a fantastic present from both the kids.Going out for a meal later on to a lovely intimate resteraunt in Northampton so should be good. Son chauffering there, dau. bringing back.
Phoebe about 20 mins ago.
The wee ones
Lily and Hope, well at least they are there!!!!!
LYNETTE sounds like a really great birthday, so pleased for you.
PATRICIAT Sorry to hear about Tweed, hope he is back to norm soon.
Glad to hear that you are having an enjoyable day and being spoiled by the family, Lynette. Hope it continues, and you enjoy your meal tonight.
We attended the funeral which was on a bright January day, but did not stay for the refreshments after as OH is too busy. Nice to hear the affectionate tributes from family members, as she was a spinster, who was very active in both the family and in the church there (organist for many years).
Have been reading all your news: how clever of Diane to make such lovely cards for everyone. Also thanks to Alicat for regular pics of dear Phoebe and her brood! They are such tiny birds.
Thanks also to dibnlib for the interesting recipe - my OH doesn't like spinach, but I'm sure I could substitute something else & will try it out.
Hope your back pain is receding, Joan - not much fun at all.
Alan: sorry to hear that poor Hamish has been suffering with this eyes, glad to hear that the medication might be taking effect now. Do hope that Lady P willl be able to sort out the blood pressure problem.
patriciat: Poor Tweed! Maybe he just ate something - I know ours does sometimes, then is better the next day.
Lynette: I saw the bit of film about the Bustards, & have been following their progress with interest. Such enormous birds! unlike the hummers!
I too admired the Firecrest on the front of the new RSPB mag - what a beautiful bird - how I would love to actually see one!
Enjoyed my 'middle of the day out' with Friend the other day - we bought new knickers, wandered around the bathtowels & the beauty counters in John Lewis, then had a nice lunch of a tuna sandwich with salad. Came home with 2 bathtowels, and a gorgeous little fluffy fleece jacket for Sweetpea! (well, it was in the sale....)
Have a Good Weekend Everyone.
