Morning all: Long day at the rose garden - poor Robert who supervises the volunteers has been fighting off a bug and a couple of us stayed on longer than usual to help him clean up stuff. I'm sure I'll be stiff tomorrow. Not as many folks showed up as last year and some of the beds were pruned by city employees which means we'll have to go over those beds again since they did a fairly perfunctory job.
Watching Mad Men (Netflix rental video of first season). Great viewing when you're too tired to think. Take care all and have a nice Sunday.
Good morning Brenda H how annoying to lose your posts. I must admit the site seems a little slow at the moment and I had the same message message after replying to a post. I thought Andy Murray played quite well, lets hope he can can keep it up.

Morning all ... another beautiful day here, with a heavy frost overnight ... we have been so lucky with the weather this week ... almost wall to wall sunshine!! I'm glad to report that my back is easier this morning. I'm trying not to take painkillers as they make me feel grotty .. and the pain reminds me not to do anything stupid and make it worse :-))
auntie - sorry you have been so poorly ... at least you can pamper yourself when you are 'on the sick'!
Lovely moon photos from OG and Heron ... and gorgeous pics of Phoebe and her chick from Alan and Lynette.
Thanks to everyone for chat etc.
Take care.

Good monring DjoanS so pleased your back is feeling a little better, take care and look after yourself.
Heron should have said thanks to you for the moon pic as well.
Actually Margobird, not quite true as I exercise whilst watching the antics in the nest and I am sure they watch me back sometimes, when they appear to stare right at you! Then again i don't exercise all day do I? I can't wait. "~"

Afternoon to all, i took this picture last night of the full moon just thought you might like to see it
Very chatty morning! Birds very active today – posturing has become full-on fighting now among Robins and Chaffinches as well as Blackbirds. Back up photo archive got too big for my 8 GB stick, so been copying onto OH’s expansion drive (original is on mine).
Lindy – I hope you enjoyed your sunny walk on a foggy morning!
Paula – good to see you again. Weeks until EJ are now in single figures!!
Margo – anyone would be tired after two hospital appointments the same day – thinking of your Sister, and you as you wait for news tomorrow. Making her mask will probably need a couple of visits – I know it took several sessions when our Son had his done.
Joan – pleased the back is improving - but take care!
Alicat – good moon photo – well done.
Lunchtime!
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
Afternoon all,
A positive plethora of posts.
Auntie : Sorry you have a viral infection. I hope you will be better soon.
Paula : Nice to see you on here.
Lynette : Thanks for the later pics of Phoebe feeding Bea.
Also thanks for all the full moon photos. Great stuff.
We had a bit of a crisis with Hamish yesterday. He has developed very sore eyes over the last couple of days and we had to rush him to the vets yesterday afternoon. He is now on steroid cream 4 times a day for his eyes. Steroid tablets twice a day and ear drops twice a day not to mention the special diet and the malaseb shampoo for his itchy skin. Also had to take Lady P to docs to get blood pressure checked as it was high when she was at the hospital yesterday for an appointment with the neurologist re back problems.
Weather is dull and cold. Temp is 5c but feels colder. Roll on spring

The thin fog this side of the Solway has just got thicker and thicker all day and now I can't even see the dock let alone the sea! Hoar (sp?) frost this morning and black ice on the road.
