  • A couple more eagle shots hope you don't mind

  • Two cubs for Lili.  Well done, her!  Must have a quick look.

Thanks all, for your concern about Tweed.  Made an appointment at vet's but the senior partner, who gave him the jab today and whom we've known since we had our first dog, phoned and said it sounded like an adverse reaction to the vaccine.   Said we should leave him until tomorrow.  He's now taken a Bonio and several Tesco muesli bones, so is on the mend.

  • Just caught up with all the news.

Great news about Lily, just saw her fidgiting so thats probably why!

Alicat - like the eagle pics. Tried to bring up cam but wouldn't come on stream for me.

Just got back from having a great meal.

  • latest pics.  deer at Pensylvania site, eagle at Blackwater, Phoebe's offspring, and Lily +

  • Evening all:  Well, lost my first post since I inadvertently hit a key that made everything disappear.

Alan: How nice to have a day where the sparkling sunshine brought out your inner Thunderbird!  Not sure what to make of that rubbish hotel.  Would be hard enough to put gel in our eyes four times a day; do hope Hamish feels better soon. Your blackbird looks very purposeful.

dibnlib: Wow - you must've really done a number on that ankle for it to take a year for the swelling to go down. Good grief: A post on steroids!!  :-)

Lynette: Birthday sounds very nice - hairdo, manicure (never had one) - my vote goes for dinner at a nice restaurant - hope it was better than good!

patriciat: What's this? Tweed not feeling good.  Sounds like he's already on the mend.

Brenda: I'm sure your DiL will welcome the time to relax at your house.  Hope your winning streak continues at tonight's quiz.   I'm actually feeling more relaxed - it helps that the landscape folks don't work Friday so don't have to be up and alert so early.

Margobird: Still holding very best thoughts for your sister!  Billy Whizz is one very lucky kitty to have found you!

OG: Glad your day is productive.  I actually have a rather pretty woven waste paper basket with flowers painted around the rim.

Trish:  Ha! Wouldn't blame Lily if she did unplug that cam - I mean, who needs an international audience while in labor!

Alicat: More brilliant shots from Norfolk Eagle cam - thanks!  Thanks (also AQ)  for the "official" news about Lily!

OK. Well all quiet on the Western front, so to speak. Thanks ALL for posts and pix. Have a good Saturday.

Diane: Did you have any yearnings to move to the big city while away in Indianapolis?

Hey, Annette. Next time you go to a rocket launch, I want to go with you. ;-))) That sounded like so much fun. I would love that. I've always wanted to visit NASA and see one of the shuttle launches. The rocket you saw sounded awe inspiring.

To answer your question: I don't have any desire at all to move back to to the big city. In fact, I felt really uncomfortable there -- the noise, the crowds everywhere, the expense, the crime, the materialism... I lived there for over 15 years, but I found it really overwhelming now. I especially don't think I could go back to apartment living. The trip confirmed for me that I want to stay in my house in the woods, with all its inconveniences. I like living with the big hawk and the rest of the wildlife. :-)

Diane: Oh good. I was worried we were going to have to picture you on a busy city street rather than surrounded by trees, hawks, rabbits and foxes.  I have the same reaction to any large town now - I was up in Santa Maria the other day and it reminded me of Orange County and L.A. - lots of huge intersections with lines of cars waiting for multiple lights and directional arrows (but, of  course, really on a smaller scale).

  • It is -3F (-19.4C) right now. Warnings have been posted that it may be -7F (-21.6C) by morning. Dang, I about froze when I took the bins up the lane. AQ, I'll try to send some of this cold to you. LOL

  • Goood morning all just had to look in and see if Lily had produced a cub/s.  Congratulations to her on the birth of her cubs.  Reading the update it seems as though she nursed Hope during labour but when the birth actually happened and after she has been very quiet.  All quiet in the den at the moment.

Back later with update on my sister and it is not good news at all.

  • PATRICIAT gald to hear Tweed is a bit better.

ALICAT/AQb Thanks for the news of the bear cubs.
