Morning all:  Long day at the rose garden - poor Robert who supervises the volunteers has been fighting off a bug and a couple of us stayed on longer than usual to help him clean up stuff.  I'm sure I'll be stiff tomorrow. Not as many folks showed up as last year and some of the beds were pruned by city employees which means we'll have to go over those beds again since they did a fairly perfunctory job.

Watching Mad Men (Netflix rental video of first season).  Great viewing when you're too tired to think. Take care all and have a nice Sunday.

  • Oh, Patriciat, I hope Tweed recovers fully very soon!!! Keep us posted. I'm so sorry.

  • VERY cold today, so haven’t gone out to evening meeting, but did get the greenhouse jobs done this afternoon, and my part of the ironing pile!!  Birds have been around all day in huge numbers – starting with 18 Blackbirds on the deck!  Here is a photo of frost on a grass in the front garden – then one of a Blackbird who managed to dig a hole in the grasses bed and eat three juicy worms in quick succession – so obviously the frost doesn’t go really deep.

So many messages here today – can’t possible reply to all, so if I miss you out, please excuse me – I still enjoyed reading everyone’s posts!

AQ – poor wee puss – I hope he is feeling better today.  Do they think he was attacked by some wee biting beastie?

Diane – that’s COLD!  I hope you didn’t have to go out for stores and that you don’t get more snow over the weekend.  Sorry, I was zzzzzzzing when you were offering the chocolate cake – I hope you ate my piece too – and enjoyed it!

Annette – sounds like lots of things have come right for you at last – so pleased about front garden, office and TV set!  OH decided he must watch footage of the Delta IV launch – spectacular!  Yes – “bin” = trash container – formerly “waste paper basket” but few are woven any more – and anyway I wanted washable plastic – so commonly known as bin!

Dibnlib – Gardening?   Already?  I know Moray coast has exceptional weather, but that’s amazing!

Brenda – hope quiz is going well.  I am sure DiL will appreciate coming back to your house for a while next week as a step towards normality.

Margo – pleased about Billy Whizz coming closer.  Hope you have some good news about Sister tonight.

Patricia – so sorry to read about poor Tweed – I do hope he is going to be okay.

Lindy – pleased you found things to buy on your trip out the other day – especially jacket for Sweetpea, of course!

Alicat – thanks for including Lily’s good news!

Off to check some webcams now.

Hi AQ have you seen any of them yet

  • No Alicat, all I can see is something big & dark breathing. I was hoping to hear wee sounds - only the background hiss.
