Morning all: Long day at the rose garden - poor Robert who supervises the volunteers has been fighting off a bug and a couple of us stayed on longer than usual to help him clean up stuff. I'm sure I'll be stiff tomorrow. Not as many folks showed up as last year and some of the beds were pruned by city employees which means we'll have to go over those beds again since they did a fairly perfunctory job.
Watching Mad Men (Netflix rental video of first season). Great viewing when you're too tired to think. Take care all and have a nice Sunday.

Afternoon all it has been a sunny but cold day here and this morning the water in the bird bath had quite a thick covering of ice on it and at lunch time the the block of ice still hadn't melted. Went out this morning to get the local paper but continued driving and landed up a Vane Farm where the temp at mid day was -1C. there was only the usual swans and ducks on the loch today and because it was so cold outside the windows kept misting up when using the scopes. Have been measuring up what I will need to make my back garden dog proof so will go to timber merchants to get the materials.
Sorry to here about Hamish's problems but when I had a cocker it had the same problems and hope Lady P's blood pressure gets back to normal. Auntie hope your virus disappears soon. Anyone else who is suffering hope you get better soon.
Did anyone see the programme about North Uist on Tuesday night it showed you them putting rings on White Tailed Eagles and them putting a transmitter on to the back of a Golden Eagle chick.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, LYNETTE!!!
OG I am always a little unsure about trying fish recipes- for years I dressed haddock with breadcrumbs and had it with chips and peas and that was it. Definitely do not like fishy fish. Now am prepared to be much more adventurous and this is one of the best.
GeorgeG : Thanks for your good wishes re Hamish and Lady P. I think that program must have been on in Scotland only and not shown here.
Thanks for the pictures of the baby hummers Alicat. Interesting that they are called Bea and Jay. It has a certain ring to it Bea-Jay. Reminds me of a certain osprey we all know. LOL
ALAN What a wonderful head and shoulders pic thank you. Poor Lady P and Hamish. hope they are both better soon.
