Put the webcam on and there was a "whale" of a fish left unattended, just gone back in to look and presumably a juve is on the nest having a feast.

Just looking back, wonderful pics from Sandy, Sparrow , and Alan. hope to go and see them next Wednesday as we are not far away from Rutland Water. Do you think they may still be there by then, anyone???
Lynette : They will be there if last season is anything to go by.
Lynette - I would think that the only doubtful one would be the female, but the rest of the family will all be there. The female was still there in early September last year though. I'm on duty - perhaps you'll come and say 'Hello'.
Heard a rumour that Mrs left on migration this morning. Apparently she was seen soaring to a great height before drifting off South - the classic start to migration. It was a glorious day here (just right for the start of Birdfair) so went straight to MB after work. Sure enough, when I got there Mrs was nowhere to be seen, with just 5R and two juves about. Both were screeching to be fed, even though one of them was eating a fish! (doing a Bynack?). 5R soon drifted off over Lax Hill, lazily following a pair of buzzards.
A while later an adult returned, which was assumed to be 5R, but a keen-eyed photographer soon realised it was unringed and, after a quick look thru a scope I could see it was Mrs. Her return sparked the juves into even more intense food begging and within an instant the third juve appeared as if from nowhere so all five are still present and correct.
5R didn't return while I was there and the food begging intensified all the time. As the juves became more cranky they put on some great flying displays, chasing each other around the bay. Photos to follow.
RW just tweeted that one of the MB juves caught a fish this morning!
Great news Sandy. Wonderful pics by the way.
The photos are brilliant!
Thanks Alan & Val. I'll put some more up after I've sorted through them all! The juves were in and out of the water so many times, both bathing and attempting to fish, so I'll see if I managed to catch them at it.
Juve on the look-out for fish.
Splashdown!
Having failed to catch a fish he eyes up a passing pigeon!
