Another pleasant visit to Manton Bay this morning. All 5 birds were in the bay this morning. The adults were fairly inactive but the juves did some flying around and also watched one of them having a bath. Also saw a juvenile buzzard in the bushes back from the nest:
The 3 Ospreyteers. One for all and all for one!!!!
Where did your brother go?
Glad you got lucky at Manton Bay Alan and lovely pics.

Having spent several hours in MB today I can agree that there's a touch of Autumn in the air. Certainly the numbers of summer visitors has reduced dramatically whereas large flocks are beginning to gather on the water.
When I got to MB there was just one juve around, who was finishing off the tail-end of a fish. Mrs was present throughout and 5R turned up after an hour or so. Just as I was leaving the other two juves showed up, called for food and promptly flew off! Other highlights were juvenile pied and yellow wagtails in front of the hide, three curlew and a young hare. I tried to count the number of coots in the bay and came up with the answer - a lot!
I think Mrs is saying "Do you mind? I'm having a bath!"
. . . and she's off!
. . . which leaves the bathroom free for the youngster. This could take a while.
Great pictures Alan, thanks for sharing
Alan you are so lucky to be able to get to Manton Bay so often. Great photos of the 3 Ospreys.

I was at Manton Bay on the 12th. whilst on holiday in Cambridgeshire. My first visit and my first "live" ospreys. What magnificent birds they are. It was an experience I won't forget in a hurry. I saw all 5 of them and was treated to a lovely flying display by one of them, but otherwise they were being rather lazy on the perches. Maybe they were watching the Coot Convention. I also couldn't count the coots there were so many.
Cheers, Linda.

Linda and Sandy - thank you for sharing your great photos of your visits to Rutland, it looks an amazing place for Osprey spotting.
Thanks for the pics Linda - glad you made it to Manton Bay.
The Rutland Water team have announced they are planning to develop an educational programme in Gambian schools, which they will pursue on their visit this winter - and Tim Mackrill is running the Berlin marathon to raise funds for it! Details here.
No shortage of fish for these chicks:
"There are three well fed chicks in Manton Bay this morning. 5R has brought three fish to the nest all before 8am!"
Sparrow thanks for posting the photos from Manton Bay.
