Thanks Sandy and Alan for the pics, they are really good. Just catching up with Manton Bay news as we've been to Wales for a couple of days - no prizes for guessing where we've been! We called at both Cors Dyfi and Glaslyn. At Cors Dyfi we managed to see all five ospreys at some point during our visit. Nora was there all the time and was keeping a half eaten flounder firmly in her grasp - there was no way she was sharing that! Apparently it was the first time she'd been fishing since pairing up with Monty in April. The staff and volunteers are lovely and so keen to tell you all that is happening. They mentioned your visit last week Lynda. Saw tiny lizards on the boardwalks as we looked around the reserve.
We only managed to see the female at Glaslyn - the rest of the family were out and about but again we got lots of info from the folk there and what a lovely location. I gather the male there is a Rutland bird if I got that right - can someone confirm please?
Ruthie Yes that's right. The Glaslyn male is Orange 11 (98), originally from a nest near Loch Garten and taken to Rutland Water in 1998. There's more information on this page of the RW archives.
Are people aware that Glaslyn published a booklet called "The Story of The Glaslyn Ospreys" was published a few months ago?

We enjoyed an afternoon at the Glaslyn site in July just after fledging.
All 3 juves on the nest:
SueC, thanks for that link and thanks Tiger for the info about the booklet - I'll follow that up.
Janeco - I can imagine just after fledging would be a good time to visit.
I didn't see the delivery, but that's some fish!!
Blimey, and another one!!

Hi Ruthie, I see that you've already had it confirmed that 'yes' the Glaslyn male is a translocated male from Rutland Water. I'm pleased that you enjoyed your time in Wales - we had a wonderful time and just made it to see Einion arrive back on the nest after his inaugural flight. I don't know whether you met Janine at Cors Dyfi - she's an Osprey Project Officer there and is also Emyr Evans partner - she's coming with the Rutland Team and some volunteers to The Gambia and Senegal in January. We visited in January of this year and are returning in January 2012. You can read all about our trip on this blog:

Hope you make it to RW before they all leave.
