ha ha ha ha ha ha - the little fish deserves to live Thanks Sandy
Spent a couple of hours at Manton Bay this morning but not a lot of action to report. All the juvies were off exploring. Maybe 33(11) had invited them to site B for lunch. I did manage to see 5R for a while before he flew off strongly towards Eyebrook reservoir. The bay was then empty of ospreys for the first time in months.

Thanks Alan, very interesting. No Mrs 5R, then? She has been ever-present on all my visits to MB so far this year.
She was there this morning - best view I've ever had of her washing her feet - must have been the calm water and the light. She flew off with one of her juveniles - no doubt giving him a lesson of some kind. 5R delighted us in Waderscrape by catching a small roach just in front of the dead tree. He took it to the near perch and ate it all - not a single juvenile food begging, must have been music to his ears. He better get used to that - it won't be long.

That's an excellent capture, Sandy. Thanks
Great action shot, Sandy - well caught!
Thanks - it was quite dramatic. The juve back left went for the fish but grabbed 5R's leg in its' beak instead (as in pic). The third juve appeared and grabbed the fish! Meanwhile, the juve wouldn't let go of 5R's leg for some time, despite him trying to take-off at least twice. I really hope his leg is OK.
