Weekly Chat, Sunday January 9, 2010

Busy all day - will catch up tomorrow. Have a good Sunday all (don't forget to check last pages of previous thread. Somebody has been posting photos of puppies again!)

  • MARGO  good to hear that your sister had a walk on her own, should help emotionally. I took my first steps outside into the back garden today(since 26th Oct) to feed and water the birds and was so pleased with myself. Don't worry OH had been feeding them so they did not go without.

  • DIBNLIB: Yes it is a relief thay Daisy can go to the kennels. It is as I said just a walk away and I have looked at it on the internet and the runs are enormous. Vicky viewed it before she took her and felt really comfotable with it all. She has so far organised a week in Turkey and on the back of me going down in March and September she is getting a lift up with me to Scotland in March and fly back to Southampton. In September she will use up her return ticket by coming up here and we will drive down south together. She is also up in June as we are going to see Take That. Not everyones cup of tea but they are showman and we will have a night in Glasgow...so what the heck! Flying from Southamton is EXPENSIVE but easier for her and it is just as cheap to do a return with Eastern Airways a single is only £10 cheaper. FlyBe advertise Soton to Inverness but you change twice and it takes all day. Daisy not going to be in kennels all that time as her house mate is like a second mum to her.

Pleased the swimming is going well...just don't seem to be able to get into a routine but with the days getting longer I will get second wind. I did have a grumble yesterday about the lack of cleanliness since Val left...I hope they take it on board.

Thanks for the critic of the film as had thought about going so probably will now.

Working with the children is draining but after 5 years with them she still says it is the best job she has ever had.

  • SHEILA  glad to hear that your Aunt is accepting a few helping aids in the house, it must be a relief to you. My Mum has her medication delivered weekly to the house by Lloyds chemists. It is all labelled up morn/aft/evening and day of week and a carer comes in to make sure she takes the pills. Think this was arranged by social services

  • dibnib glad to hear you are getting more mobile. It will obviously be a bit of a long haul to be back to normal but it seems you are coming along fine.

  • Couldn't resist, Phoebe again.  Must go and get dinner out as OH is off to a meeting tonight re cricket.

  • Annette: It is pretty frustrating about the gym situation..have a local council one a bit nearer but I must be a snob as in 4 years I have never used the showers there..I do have standards.

Flat pack furniture should come with a health warning or even that childs phone number. I tend to buy the slightly more expensive assembled option. Last time we had flat pack it was a 5 piece bedroom set but luckily the order came one bit at a time...if it had all come together it would have gone on the woodburner.

  • WENDY  do miss Val, she was very thorough and good craic as well. There is always a big turn over of staff but I was glad to hear that Laura Ross is coming back to the gym.

  • Dibnlib: I gather Val is working in M and S..so good for her as they should have cherished her. I think Laura is coming back as a personal trainer as they are all freelance but I wish she could come back and do spinning she was brilliant.

I also gather Val has been in to use the gym on a 15 day thingy but I keep missing her.

  • Phlebotomist had a lovely tan, but I ruined her first shift back at work – no blood!  After three needles, she gave up and will try again when she is back on afternoons in two weeks.

Margo – I hope all was well with your dental check today – and well done your Sister – very brave of her.  Pleased Billy Whizz is happy with his snack bar!

Sheila – to correct my error yesterday, Hope’s birthday is 22nd January (not 19th).  What a hassle to get to your Aunt – I hope everything will go smoothly for her now.

George – YESSS!  So pleased you are seriously considering a Dog – what kind did you have before?

Annette – I hope GSon’s visit to the dentist yesterday was ok – and that landscape lady’s visit was helpful today.  Also that desk comes together soon!

Lynette – pleased you have no bad effects from dentist.  I love sorting cupboards, especially when I can get rid of things!

Dibnlib – pleased to hear you passed another landmark, into garden to feed the birds.

Wendy – Son uses gym in town, but goes home to shower!

Off to Dumfries Bird Club this evening – about migration.

Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!

  • OG: I did go to Grantown for a bit but being part of the school hours seemed a bit hit and miss. The other nearest is in Elgin but is now having serious funding problems.

Oil man came today and mentioned the state of roundabout at Grantown on Friday when he nearly lost in his truck full of oil. I think they phoned the police to get warnings of black ice put out.

Rain for 2 days..maybe..then it will be sorted.
