Weekly Chat (non-osprey) May 17, 2025

Hallo all:   ARGHHHH!!    Just realized I lost the plot last evening!!  Apologies to all for spreading the confusion!  It's been a back-to-front week all round (trousers/days/you name it!)

No fascinating news about celestial events from me I'm afraid.  Just that in our hemisphere, Spring is pretty much here.

  • Another lovely day here so think we will catch the bus into town and have a wander round the classic car show.

  • Good idea, DIBNLIB!

    Thank you, ANNETTE  :-)

  • Oh Annette - you just made me think I had lost a day, but I assume Diane has weather problems. OG - Good to see a post from you and things are returning to normal for you all.

Thanks to all for good wishes for my Bursitis/sciatica - no real improvement yet so still going to Private Physiotherapist and trying to get a face-to-face doctors appointment on Monday as the Naproxen and cocodamol is not having much effect. I did register for NHS physio but the earliest they can see me is end of June!

I hope all have a good and safe weekend

  • Thank you, Annette. Not sure which day I'm on, now!

We are back home again after a very tiring journey back. More on that later. We have had a pleasant time and my OH had a good rest, which was the best thing. Needless to say, he's straight back into being busy today in lots of ways. Hopefully we are now on the final part of our project, after which he will be able to relax and not ever have this pressure again. Never one to do anything by halves, he throws himself into being busy but this gets more difficult as he is now in his eighties.

I hope OG is improving and can get back to a normality at home.

Harelady, it's a horrible pain to have, which my sister in law struggled with only recently.  She took so many pain killers she was worried about it and found her quality of life was seriously affected. I hope you can get guidance & some relief.

  • I have read all your posts but not had time to reply. Reluctantly flying home today.

  • Again:  Apologies to all for kicking off the week earlier than expected.  Time flies - too fast apparently!

  • No worries at all, ANNETTE. I noticed you'd started the thread, but thought it was fine. My attention was focused on the weather.

I thought I should stop in here and let everyone know that I'm okay, in case you read about last night's lethal storms in Missouri and Kentucky. Indiana was also hit hard, but the big tornadoes tracked south and east of me. I'm fine.

    Everyone have a good weekend.

  • HARELADY: I am so very sorry that you are still suffering with no relief. That's awful that you can't get NHS physio until the end of June. I hope you can get an immediate doctor's appointment for pain relief. Sending you healing energy and thinking of you.

  • Relieved to hear your area escaped the storms  DIANE. It sounded terrible for those in its path.

Rusty sorry your break is over so quickly, but we look forward to hearing about it all.

Beautiful sunshine here, so my OH has been tending his allotment, going to the DIY shop, painting a back door, mowing our lawns......

I've got three lots of laundry on the line so guess that Sunday will have to include some of the dreaded ironing....

  • Diane:  Yes, saw that things looked rocky in that area - and as far north as Wisconsin which seemed unusual   Heard news about Kentucky this morning.  Things seem to have been extraordinarily bad these last few years.
