HAPPY NEW WEEK AND HAPPY FULL MOON!

The moon turns full at 5:55 p.m. in London, UK, on Monday 12 May. In the US, this is the Full Flower Moon, and I think it is called by that name in UK, too? It's a micro-moon, so it will be far from earth.

You can insert your town or city in the search box here to find your exact time:

We have had a late spring with wicked bad weather, and we are FINALLY getting some lovely seasonally hot weather this weekend. Many folks mowed their lawns for this first time this week. It's so nice to see the sunshine.

I hope OG will leave the hospital and go home this week. Sending her strength.

I also hope those who are vacationing (Lindy, Rusty...) will have a joyful time. I think dibnlib will also be travelling soon?

Everyone have a good week. Love and hugs to all.

  • DIANE - Thank you for starting our week. Some evenings I watch the news channel with the world weather, particularly noticing Chicago, as it is the closest to you. I noticed recently 7 -18 C. That is what we are getting here last few days (& nights). Our autumn is weird, the trees are confused, not knowing whether to change colour or just drop. Still no rain in sight, farmers are desperate, no use sowing crops.

Wonderful photos from LINDA & RUSTY. Thank you.

I hope this week brings OG home.

I wish all MOTHERS a very happy day. Dau#2 phoned this morn. Now I am going to laze in the sun on my back verandah until lunch.

  • Thanks to Diane for the start and the link to moon stuff.  It's 9:55 a.m. on the 12th here.....   Glad you're getting some spring weather.  It's been too warm (for me) here these last few days, but we'll settle back down come Monday.

AQ   We are doing Mother's Day at daughter's tomorrow:  A low key get together with just the girls plus quiche, fruit, naughty cinnamon buns and bunches of flowers changing hands.  My OH bought me a really lovely bouquet on Friday that stops me in my tracks every time I pass it by.  I invited him to daughter's, but he decided he'd be fine staying home without all the blather and nattering.

Will be quiet on here with Rusty and Lindybird out gallivanting around and yes, let's all send good thoughts for OG's return home.

    Have a lovely Sunday everyone

  • A mother's arms are more comforting than anyone else's.

It's not easy being a mom. If it were, fathers would do it. (Betty White)

Nothing is really lost until your mother can't find it.

  • Thanks for starting us off again Diane and for the moon link - here in my part of Suffolk it will be at 17.55. Ive set an alarm on my phone to go outside to look although we have a day of full sunshine here tomorrow so I may have to wait until dark. Also for the healing energy sent.

Unfortunately I am still not able to return to work. My pain medication has been doubled and I am using a cooling gel as well. The bookshop owners are being very kind and understanding and I will see them on Tuesday after my 2nd session with the Physio.

Annette, I liked the gardens link and I have been to the Jarman garden in Dungeness, it a lovely remote part of the UK.

Rusty and Lindy both holidays look fab so enjoy and tell us all about it when you get home.

AQ - well done with the family history - Ive started a few times but my Irish records are few as the building containing a lot of them got burned down in the early troubles. Also love the story about Valerie - great news.

OG - I do hope you are home now.

Well I am goign to hobble doen the garden to fill the bird feeders and put wateer in the baths. We also have had very little rain this year so my lawn is awful.

I am doing no-mow May so its not growning so much as turning brown, but I know it will recover. I watering just a few plants that need it.

Have a good week all and stay safe.

  • Thank you DIANE! And to LINDY and RUSTY for their photos.

  • DIANE  Like you i am wishing OG home after quite a long stay in hospital.  Happy holiday to LINDY and RUSTY.  We don't go on our cruise till 2nd July which is the day after OHs 70th birthday!! Thanks for staring the week for us.

We were at Eden Court last night to see  one of our favourite bands "Capercaillie"....really great evening. Next visit is on the 22nd for "The Merry Widow" and Scottish Opera

  • Just had a lovely visit from the couple who were married on the 2nd May. They brought photos and reminisced about the day. I discovered that the celebrant was/is a professional comedian in his other life, which explains the humorous talk that he gave...!

    Thinking of OG.

Harelady - so glad that your employers are being so understanding. I hope that you will be able to return to work before too long.

LINDY and RUSTY - enjoy your holidays.

AQ and ANNETTE, enjoy Mothers Day !

  • came home last Friday.  All Okay.  Very tired. Will attempt conversations later in the week.

  • So pleased you are home OG. Excellent news.
