The personnel in the OP for the 2025 season
have all shown up at one time or another ...
...with BlueKL5-Klive disrupting proceedings again,
causing Asha to disappear for days on end
and to return as a different Osprey,
according to YT Chatters and LG HQ.
The new female has not been named by LG HQ, so I am referring to her as "Asha#2", given that she is indistinguishable to most of us here but we respect the considered opinions of Osprey experts.
After a steady start to the season, with Brodie & Asha establishing a good routine towards eggs, Klive's interference has resulted in a period of reconstruction, which is taking its time - not least due to continuing intrusions - but not by Klive, unless he's lost his Darvic, a possibility suggested by Tap1 - we certainly haven't seen his normal self since both he and Asha disappeared -
after she wing-slapped him on 20 April
Brodie & Asha#2
IMAGICAT
Poor Asha#2 has been calling and calling for what seems like h-o-u-r-s
We have a hiatus. I've searched both cams on full screen with 400% magnifier, still can't find Klive.
07:17 - Klive flew in, no attempt at mating, Asha#2 thought he had a fish but no. He ended up on the perch until flying off to Odin's branch, where he still is - and Asha#2 is still on the nest, hunkered down and calling now 'n then.
CATLADY - the font in the posting box is back to teeny for me :(((
Oh flipping flop...
No, tis still a bit bigger on my tablet Scylla!
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
09:46 - Asha#2 gave up waiting on the nest and flew off into the distance.
Klive was here, looking as tho he needed to recuperate from summat: Here's a longish "study":
19:52 - FISH !!! !!! !!! Headless, could be shabbier, Asha#2 flew off with it. This may be a flattering view:
Klive nestorised and stayed about 15 minutes.
20:46 - Asha#2 returned, no leftover with her. Klive crash-landed for an eventually successful mating. Goodnight at 21:32, over in the old nest area, on that treetip I've begged them to include in the picture frame.
21 May
03:51 - Asha#2 landed, called until Klive flew in with a very small messy stick at 04:29.
No mating attempt!
04:32 - Klive flew off. Asha#2 is now on the perch waiting for a fish.
Nope!
05:34 - Asha#2 flew off.
She's got a primary missing:
07:26 - A piece of fish for Ash (I'm abbreviating her in a way that will save keystrokes but not infringe the "this is not Asha" rule):
10 minutes after flying off with it, Ash was back - Klive was preening under the nest tree, I'm not doing a snap.
Later, a clump:
Around 11:30 there was an intrusion that came to nothing - here, the couple is prepared to defend after Klive had apparently shooed off the culprit:
I may be wrong, but it looked as tho Ash must have caught her own fish in the afternoon - here she was coming to the nest with some of it, in anticipation of Klive bring another one - but it was only a big, solid-looking clump. She reproached him (but maybe was just making sure he didn't try to take her fish!).
(The bit at the end with Ash on Odin's perch is a recording of a recording, due to yet another tech prob due to morphing software that one has used for years without problems up till when it decided to malfunction, grrr.)
I've now had to delete the current Nest and PTZ stream downloads because of above-mentioned tech prob.
I don't think we missed much in that footage I deleted. Continuing...
Was this a Stonechat at lunchtime? It preened almost nonstop, no singing, only wind heard on the nest mike.
It certainly dropped like a stone ;-D (My emojis have failed, I probably need to reboot.)
I
Klive brought another gurt clump !!!
21:20 - Ash's final fly-off:
Greeneyes on YT Chat noted the Cuckoo a bit after 22:00 but unfortunately it was too distant, and efforts at enhancement failed due to distortion.
Not a brilliant day for the resident couple - is anyone still holding out hope for eggs? Not me, I admit.
22 May
03:58 - Ash landed:
Over 2 hours later she was still waiting on the nest, crouched in the nestcup:
Klive just flew in - it looks as tho it was an intruder response:
I'm packing up now.
So she didn't get a fish despite her pecking him off the nest to go get one, right? this reply is actually for 21st
