HAPPY NEW WEEK and HAPPY EQUINOX!
The spring equinox is 20 March at 9:01 a.m. in the UK and 20 March at 2:01 a.m. in California. The autumn equinox is 20 March at 7:31 p.m. in Adelaide, Australia.
Where I live, we are in that transition when one day it's hot and the next day we freeze in the snow.
No flowers are blooming here yet. The trees are fully budding out though. The super-mosquitos are alive and well and have taken up residence in my bedroom again this year! I haven't seen the groundhog yet.
Everyone have the best week possible.
Love and hugs to you all.
Thanks to all who post pictures ( especially Lindy and Rusty), and everyone for news of whatever folks are getting up to.
I have the same restless legs problem which became very severe about three years ago and I was prescribed Amitriplyline to try, just 1 x 10mg tablet by 8 p.m. and it allows me to get to sleep before the restless activity starts in earnest ... I also find that exercise in the form of gentle walking around the house and a short burst on my armchair pedal cycle at same time helps enormously, seems to ease that dreadful crampy sensation ... hope this info helps!

I get restless leg syndrome on long overnight flights. Mind you. I haven’t done one of those since before covid. I doubt I will be now either given that my poor holiday friend who had the stroke isn’t making much progress. It’s incredibly frustrating. She is obviously trying to communicate with hand signals and facial expressions and it is very rare that they can be understood. It’s an awful situation. I went to French today. The man taking the session had found some interesting and quirky articles from French newspapers. One was about a Parisian binman who had become an influencer on Tik Tok to try to make people recycle and not throw their cigarette ends on the pavement and their rubbish at the side of motorways. We had some great discussions in our groups and learned some new vocabulary too. OG - regarding the garden. I went and bought my sweet pea plants today. You get about 15 in a pot for under £2. I have prepared the ground and plan to plant them towards the end of the week when it is supposed to warm up. I also bought a bag of compost ready for the seed potatoes my friend is chitting for me. I must have told you before that it is all I will accept for giving her lifts. She can no longer drive due to glaucoma.
WENDY - Thank you, I hadn't heard about using amitriptyline for RLS . I will bear that in mind . I do get up and walk around when it starts and sometimes massage my legs which I think helps a little. It sounds dramatic but I have been known to jump up shouting a sweary word out of sheer frustration. Of course that does nothing for the legs but it lets off some steam!
RUSTY - So sad about your erstwhile holiday companion. I do hope that she will be able to communicate more easily in time. Are you able to see her at all? I seem to remember that you weren't on the roster of visitors?

I frequently was reduced to tears until I started the medication
I can understand how that could happen, WENDY
Sorry, ROSY, I missed your post last evening. It shouldn't be the case, but often is, that a private consultation gives results. I hope that things will move forward, now.
Well, I thought I had better come on and bump us up.
It’s a beautiful day today so I have planted my sweet peas. It is supposed to be warm now so I hope they will be OK. Other than that, I have spent the last 2 days preparing a French lesson for when it is my turn again. Once I get an idea, I am fine. I am doing about secret places people might want to share. I have a book about the hidden arcades in Paris so I have based it around that. It is now all typed and printed. I do that on Windows on my old desk top.
However, I do most things these days on my iPad (l am using it now) It is 9 years old and is perfectly fine. However, I discovered to my horror yesterday that Apple are no longer doing updates for ones this age. It happened with my old one too. I found out because I was updating my friend’s - the lady who lives in the assisted living. I suddenly wondered why my iPad wasn’t getting an update!! It is disgraceful isn’t it? I will keep using this obviously but, what happened last time was that some of my favourite Apps wouldn’t work any more so I was forced to buy this new one. 9 years isn’t old is it? Whilst I am on the subject, my desktop is running Windows 10. I believe Microsoft are going to stop updates for that too shortly!!!! Honestly!!! End of rant!!
Thank goodness I am going out birding with the ladies tomorrow. Lunch out too of course!!!!!
