HAPPY NEW WEEK and HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
Merry Christmas to everyone who celebrates the day. I hope you all have a joyful, peaceful time.
My heart is with those who are missing loved ones during this holiday season.
Tonight is the longest night of the year. It's very cold here, and some snow is glistening in the moonlight. The wildlife are hibernating in their burrows.
Love and hugs to all.
Good that your GD was able to be home for Christmas, OG.
I've just had a filling fall out of a tooth - it's visible and what a time for it to happen.
Thanks to all for supportive comments about my OH's hospital experience. It is good to have him home, but he gets very tired doing not very much.
Sorry about your tooth Heather. Hope you can get it fixed before long, but not the easiest time to get an appointment as you say.
I enjoy all your pictures and cartoons Lindy. You have a good supply.
Sorry about the filling going, Heather :-(
Rosy, glad you enjoy - they are a mixture of things gleaned from Facebook and also friends who send me acres of "funnies" many of which are funny, some of which are unprintable and some of which are unfunny!!!
We enjoyed a good lunch in a French restaurant -- I had pan fried salmon and my OH had slow cooked belly pork. Amber enjoyed garlic bread followed by cod goujons. Afterwards I had gooey chocolate melting pudding, & my OH had Madeleines with caramel chocolate sauce. We retired back to base in a taxi, for more coffees and dipping into a box of chocs. Tonight we only nibbled on leftover turkey and some delish cheeses before a bit of shortbread.
Heather - so sorry to hear about your filling. What an inconvenient time for it to happen. I hope it is not painful.
Lindy - that meal out sounds gorgeous. Just my sort of food!!!
I have to go to town today to visit the cobblers. In church on Christmas Day, the sole just fell off my favourite black shoe. The pair are flat because I wear them with my smart black trousers. I have had the shoes for ages but they are so comfy. For those in the UK, they are Hotter shoes. I strongly suspect that they will be irreparable because they are the moulded type of sole. Such a shame. I love those shoes. Unlike Lindy (lol) I don’t have another pair of flat smart black shoes. I am going on a short holiday on January 1st (more nearer the time) and really need something. If the shoes are terminally ill, I will go to a local shopping park to see if I can find anything. It’s probably not the best time to go in the sales. The nearest Hotter shop is in Llandudno which is too far to go really. I have seen some online but they won’t arrive in time. First world problem I know. I will have to wear my navy trousers and shoes instead but my tops go better with the black things!!!!!!!!
Well. It is foggy and 2 degrees!!! I went to town and, as suspected, my shoes are terminal. On the off chance on my way to the bird food man, I called in Peacocks. I got a pair of shoes for £7 in the sale which will be absolutely fine for walking down to dinner in at the hotel!! How amazing is that! They are very comfortable.
HEATHER Dental problems always happen weekends and bank holidays, don't know why, but they do! OG so glad your GD is home at the moment.
Yes, DIBNLIB, you're right ! I will phone after New Year and see what they offer me.
I'm sitting in a very clean and tidy house, waiting for my granddaughters to come and wreck it .... They will probably be here within the hour.
RUSTY - what luck to find a pair of shoes that will fit the bill.
