HAPPY NEW WEEK!
I'm in Indianapolis taking care of 5 dogs. Talk to you all later.
Everybody have a good week. Love and hugs to all.
AQ So very sorry to hear your sad news, my sympathy to you and your family. It hasn't been easy for you for a long while and so it is time to look after yourself now. xx
AQ I've just seen your post and am so very sorry. Im glad that your Daughter was with him. Remember all the good times and smile at his memory.
Thank you ALL for your words. Too tired to reply individually, I’ll just say that it is great having you here that I can “speak” to without treading on any toes. I have decided to write OH’s eulogy to avoid a disagreement between Daus. HARELADY I have stolen your final words as an ending.
Yesterday I cleared OH’s room at Nursing Home (they state we have 24 hours to do so but in fact they didn’t know he had died!). He was only made permanent last week and as I had not yet paid this month’s fees, I negotiated to pay 9 days in full now rather than wait for govt services decide their contribution.
AQ Lovely words from Harelady....a fitting tribute I am sure.
AQ: 24-hours not a lot of time, but I guess they need the room. Hope daughters will tread carefully in the days ahead. How nice that Harelady came up with the perfect ending for the eulogy. Do you have friends there who can also offer a helpful ear? Hugs and be good to yourself.
Oh, goodness - I've not been on here as very busy since we got home safely last night, & both very tired.
Such a shock for you AQ as so sudden. I'm so sorry
I can't add to the lovely words put on here already as of course he is at peace at last and you knew he was distressed at the situation as it was. Be kind to yourself and take things slowly- I'm sure your daughters will be a great help even though they are shocked themselves. But not as used to deaths as much as our generation of course.
My thoughts are with you and the family.
A L I F E
A Life is made of memories
Of sharing hopes and schemes
A single life is crammed with thoughts -
Is full of personal dreams.
A life has shiny bright beginnings, though it sometimes finds
Some strife
Which cuts through the middle of that time
With lessons learned, for life!
Each of us has their own timeline,
With starting, middle, ending
And it can be a short one or
With luck, a length suspending.....
Of keeping on till "wise old age", now
Supposedly the best part
As long as all your aches and pains
And how good is your own heart.
You share your timeline overlap
With those you love and treasure
Your life has been a mosaic of
So many things, hard to measure.
You will have touched the lives of others
And they yours, in equal pressure.
So on we go: Each alone it seems
Until on examination
Our lives are each happily intertwined
For ever
Joyful Perpetuation.
Bravo Lindybird!
Thank you LINDA
Who was the idiot who thought a DVD of photos should be at a funeral? I have wasted all day searching for & selecting my choice of photos, listening to 2 Daus (thank goodness only have 2), emails & phone calls from both, Dau#1 wants everything her way, I'm placating Dau#2 lest she give in & give up. I have just been sent the "final 40" (according to her) to find she's omitted one of my important choices. I am preparing a eulogy but Dau#1 wants to speak too and wants know NOW what I've written - well, I haven't had time, been doing <insert sweary words> photos all day and missed my nanny nap.
Grr. Angry for you AQ - you could do without this just now. Bet you wish you could "bang their heads together" as we used to say!
It's raining here now after being cold yesterday and more worser (!!)colder weather to come after tomorrow with "low for this time of year" temps! Aargh!
Doing lots of laundry & draping it around the house, so just as well not expecting any visitors....
Thank you for your comment on my bad poetry Annette - just a few thoughts on our lives in general.
