Aran & Elen
After a slightly dodgy start, when Elen went AWOL when she found that Aran hadn't arrived, and he therefore had a brief flirtation with Blue372 (of whom much more in the Llyn Brenig thread), this couple's second season together is turning out to be a great success. Elen has survived the attentions of an aggressive Tawny Owl and has produced 3 eggs, one more than last season, and Aran has continued to be the great provider we are accustomed to.

10 July
They're so sodden, we can't see where they end and the nest begins
12 July
Cam2 was frozen all night - cam1 (badly) showed an early-morning exercise session but then the chicks hunkered down and hadn't moved for quite a while up to this time:

Every time I check I can't find any excuse for anxiety about this family
Aran finishing his supper last evening - he took the tailend away, not to the nest!
00:45 - Elen and a couple of passing bats:
Here was breakfish this morning:

20 July
As usual it's been "damp", but in the evening 6M9 got active while the other 2 lazed:
Five minutes later, Aran brought a good fish for supper, which Elen was quick to take control of - she's a strong Mama!

08:50 - 6M8 FLEDGED !!!
22 July
The soggy family at breakfish time (it's not as clear as I'd like, I didn't adjust because it's faster to process if I don't):
How unaggressive they all are! I haven't been watching every day so don't know if this is their usual behaviour or not.

Elen and her 3 youngsters were all sleeping standing up for a while last night - but the cam went black for several hours, until camperson came on duty so we couldn't tell how long before the 2 on the nest lay down,,, I could check Cam1 of course but am not going to.
I don't think anyone else has fledged yet but can't swear to it.
Fabulous capture of 6M8! Such excitement as she chips and whistles with the effort. Absolutely loving the controlled crash landing back to the nest . Aran and Elen seem to have done the impossible on this nest this season. Bravo!!!
