Asha & Brodie
The partnership has matured this season, with Asha continuing her good female role (and she loves nest-building) and Brodie being more reliable, both fishing and incubating.
The pair have fought their way thru all kinds of nasty weather - snow, wind and rain - and intruders, including the dreaded KL5 Klive, have been a nuisance but not dangerous...
so far.

EDIT
********
Sadly, the month of May heralded irresistible aggression from BlueKL5 "Klive", who had ruined the end of last season for the 2 juvies.
Within the first 2 days Klive had driven Brodie from the area (tho Brodie did return a couple of times to dive-bomb Klive, to no effect) and destroyed the eggs. He commenced to woo Asha clumsily, selfishly and inappropriately, as can be seen from the following pages.

Female GSW, but not a spectacular display:
Lovely and we did hear a quick rat a tat tat Thanks Scylla
New router arrived yesterday, at last!
Before I went offline:
11 February
During the death throes of my old router (it was slowing down, picking up, cutting off and back on again for days/weeks) I seem to have deleted the last clip of this GOSHAWK visit and it can't be recovered - and it's only the nest view so there was no zoom for better resolution:
Nothing to report since connection resumed.
OH no ! ! sorry Scylla I won't be watching Loch Garten nest this year. And I don't want to read braver than myself posts in regard to what's perching on Asha's perch. I don't like bad news and wish people wouldn't give it. Forgive me. Feb 11 was my birthday. Being on its own with an empty nest is one thing but with flightless juvies in the nest, I just don't want to know.
A nice bird but one we don't want to be seeing on or near the nest! Just had a quick calculation, 30 days or so and we may see our 1st birds returning?
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
20-21 February
Very, very windy and cold-looking - here was a sunny interlude yesterday afternoon:
This cam and the WTE nest were dropping out a lot on the 20th, probably due to the windy conditions.
D'you reckon there will be any attention paid to the LG nest and cams before the looming new season? Will this be almost the only Osprey cam in the whole of the UK without IR? I feel a sulk coming on

Certainly very different to the good ol' days, was always such interest & anticipation here, then it all went pear-shaped with the expert advice not to have IR!

Being just a lurker, I don’t know what IR is. Could you please explain what it is & what it does.
Very much looking forward to the new season & the return of the ospreys.
Thanks to all who have kept us going throughout the winter.
IR is infrared used in night vision cameras so that we can view bird actions in the nest throughout the hours of darkness ...
Hiya bluesky2 Good to see you, and thanks for noticing us over the off-season I will add to Wendy's info (just to show I'm paying attention) that the birdies cannot see the light, so it's even more galling that we're lumbered with a pitch-black picture thru the nights (tho I accept that some may take a while to get used to the on/off clicks).
