Asha & Brodie
The partnership has matured this season, with Asha continuing her good female role (and she loves nest-building) and Brodie being more reliable, both fishing and incubating.
The pair have fought their way thru all kinds of nasty weather - snow, wind and rain - and intruders, including the dreaded KL5 Klive, have been a nuisance but not dangerous...
so far.

EDIT
********
Sadly, the month of May heralded irresistible aggression from BlueKL5 "Klive", who had ruined the end of last season for the 2 juvies.
Within the first 2 days Klive had driven Brodie from the area (tho Brodie did return a couple of times to dive-bomb Klive, to no effect) and destroyed the eggs. He commenced to woo Asha clumsily, selfishly and inappropriately, as can be seen from the following pages.

Lots of crashes and other trauma here, not a lot getting done !!!
What a beautiful young woodyP. Thanks Scylla.
A lovely wee video, nice to see a young Woodie,, thanks. Hope your crashing and traumas have ended!!!
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
Yesterday - shame the Chaffie's song didn't carry to the nest mike:
Early hours of this morning - I'm scrolling thru thinking of the Pine Marten and suddenly... !!!
I thought s/he was going to dig right down thru the nest! Naturally I checked the nestcam for sound, but as usual at night, especially with wind, there was more glitch than sound :((( And no amount of lightening would give any hint of the critter beyond the cam going completely dark when s/he sniffed the lens - and I heard a very brief kinda sizzle then.
Beautiful creature and no eggs to worry about A super video Scylla , thank you, and also for the really lovely portrait of a male Chaffie
Goodness me, if it had dug any lower, it would have come out through the bottom!!

Pair of Mistle Thrushes, one of which stayed for 15 minutes on the nestcam perch - but the nest cam video and sound were completely useless so I've just done a grainy snap:
super grainy snap though ! Thank you Scylla
25 October
A pair of Jays this morning - I only improved the picture quality and upped the volume a bit (you may be able to hear some cows, even!), no other edits and the PTZ wasn't VG:
A couple of non-nest Chaffies and the Pine Marten prevention wrapping (more to inform uninformed YouTubers than anyone here):
There were lots of little birds on the nest thru the day - Great Tits and Chaffies - plus the GSW couple, but I couldn't get good snaps and there were no PTZ zooms apart from the above - the best I could do was this Mistle Thrush pair again:
Nice to see the 2 Jays. Pity the prevention never stopped the Pine Martin, okay for now but not what we want in the breeding season!
This **** little box, you can hardly read what you are typing!! That's with glasses on!!!
