(I am starting a new thread for April because, for sad personal reasons, Korky cannot be with us until further notice so the March title cannot be edited.)
Please read Korky's comprehensive March 2024 intro.
Asha and Brodie
Last year they arrived on 04 and 14 April respectively.
The end of the 2023 season was marred by the aggressive intrusion of BlueKL5 "Klive" (thank you, Fergus). We have no idea if the 2 youngsters were fit to migrate.
We haven't heard anything from HQ but it appears that the cams are not quite ready, despite snaps being posted to Facebook 10 days ago together with a query about the lack of IR for the third year in a row - and the streaming is unsteady and unreliable. When LG issued a warning about a delay to the opening of the season, it seemed to refer only to the Visitor Centre.
The PTZ now
Quote RSPB YT Channel: When the Loch Garten Nature Centre opens on April 15th, this camera is controlled by the centre staff during work hours, so please be gracious if you find it staring at an empty tree! The birds react quicker than the staff are sometimes able.
IMAGICAT
Make returns to nest, he alarm calls, shortly joined by female and both look around intently before he attempts mating and then flies off
10:27 both birds now gone
Both birds return and female starts food soliciting = any possible intruder has now gone
I wish the post time stamp could be adjusted to BST. Very confusing!
Intruder identified by camera chat poster using slo mo as Goshawk. Makes perfect sense.
Excellent Scylla, thank you
.

Thank you for all your stats and the most essential correction - I couldn't believe you aplogised for it, you are such a lady compared to moi
However, even I must apologise for the lateness of yesterday morning's BIG HEADLESS BROWN TROUT delivery and aftermath! I thought about leaving it unfinished but it seems to me to be a good demo of the progress the couple have made - how they've settled with each other and the procedures, and how Brodie didn't fight for the leftover but accepted Asha's will... and he got it later.
A bit later, Asha had to get up especially to trim a stick, for some mysterious reason - then she flew off for some mysterious reason and Brodie came in to cover her, still with the fish leftover - then Asha returned with a clump which would be useless for nest material but maybe for sanitiser?
As you can see, I'm miles behind and I can't see any improvement any time soon!

I can hardly read it because it's so faint, so I rarely bother trying - I'll do that now and may add it to the Community "Upgrade" ️ thread.
EDIT
The time is correct here, EJFan :-/
And, checking your comment on Chat, it was right there too.
12:48 female off the nest again alarm calling
Perfect photos scylla! Thank you.
