Well, it's now 2024 and hopefully another successful year for the Poole Harbour Ospreys.
The last couple of years have seen the successful establishment of a nest and raising of young.
Translocated females From the harbour have set up successful nests in Wales also raising young.
Hopefully this year may see the establishment of a second nest in the Harbour area.

Here was the family last year
I hope Alison Copland won't mind but here is a link to a video she has made of the 2023 season. It is a must watch for followers of Ospreys, especially the Poole harbour family

It's not so nice here at the moment and all 4 chicks are hunkered down under Mumbrella. Blue 022 turns up with a Bass and no takers. There is also a large fish in front of CJ7

Just to reassure that #4 got some breakfish this morning:

A little excerpt from supper - see how unaggressive (or unstarving) #1 is, what a heartwarming sight

That was a wonderful feed Scylla, thank you.
Aw, nice to see it just waiting and looking to see when food will come it's way. They, oh well, I will do some housework and come back later!
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
A female was seen today on a Poole platform with a fish. She looks pretty hungry.
She is 1H1, a 2022 Rutland bird.
She was last sighted on a nest in Germany with a male bird at the end of April. Now she has made it to Poole we just need a male to turn up.
That’s exciting news, thank you Richard. If one of the spare Welsh males would just fly down to here!
There is a Poole male flying about somewhere
What a lovely sight, between 5:25 and 5:30 this morning both parents were feeding. CJ7 was nestorising and came across some leftovers which she began to feed to the young just as a new fish was delivered. She soon took over the new fish once the leftovers had gone mind.

What a laid back feed for this family of 4 this morning.
08.04 022 arrived with a live fish.
08.05 The chicks lined up, from what I think nearest to the camera - 1, 4, 2, 3.It was #4 who got most of the early part of the feed
08.06 #2 pulled back and #3 moved next to #4
08.07 #2 did a bit of preening whilst waiting on it’s opportunity to feed.
08.13 #3 and #4 leave the feed
#1 joined by #2
08.18 08.20 CJ7 pauses
08.21 It seems to be a “Come and go Buffet” as the chicks dip in and out of the feed.

08.31
08.32 CJ7 munches the tail fin down.
08.36 CJ7 and her chicks. What a beautiful morning. ️
