Well, it's now 2024 and hopefully another successful year for the Poole Harbour Ospreys.
The last couple of years have seen the successful establishment of a nest and raising of young.
Translocated females From the harbour have set up successful nests in Wales also raising young.
Hopefully this year may see the establishment of a second nest in the Harbour area.

Here was the family last year
I hope Alison Copland won't mind but here is a link to a video she has made of the 2023 season. It is a must watch for followers of Ospreys, especially the Poole harbour family

Oh wow, that’s a surprise Alison, but then, is it why the nest has been so peaceful without a bossy female in the mix?!!
Like you say though, good for the project.

I never cease to wonder at the success of this nest, and I fervently wish for smooth progress to migration, with no you-know-who attacks!
A couple of random scenes from this morning:

Ahh, CJ7 trying to protect her chicks this morning:
Teatime, and only one remains to be fed, the others are chilling for England:
After their early-morning exercises, they're waiting for breakfish, looking wonderful:
Fab portrait of the 4 chicks. Well done Scylla. They are all so handsome.
12 July
Cams went down at 23:12.
5R0 has fledged!!
10.07 He had a wee flight over the nest watched by his brothers.
10.08 He then set his sights on a further distance.
Off towards the trees

What a super picture of four beautiful chicks! Success indeed … the Fab Four! XXXX
11.13 5R1 then does a backwards fly/jump and lands on 5H6
11.14 5R1 then managed a hover for a few seconds
11.14 5R2 went to the nest edge
and took off
watched by his siblings. He landed on the camera pole.(Heather BOPH)
5R0 returns
with a perfect landing.
12.02 CJ7 arrives to receive a fish from 022
12.05
12.38 5R2 flies down from the cam pole.
Not such a graceful landing as 5R0 and it’s poor 5H6 that is on the receiving end again!
12.39 5R2 manages to get something from CJ7 before the fish is finished.
Then the tail fin.
