Hallo all. Hasn't stopped raining here all day - two more days of it - BUT the weather in the UK has been making headlines on the radio and telly! Will catch up with chat later.
I think it's time I posted this before those who are departing for Christmas leave us.
We hope that everyone who can will enjoy a Happy and Holy Christmas and good times to come in 2011.
Best wishes from Original Goldfinch and Eagle Eye.
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
Unknown said: Wow, Diane, deer passing your window! And thanks for the owl vids. Oh, just seen your later owl posting, yes, we should all concentrate like that. Sounds like our favourite nature commentator, Gordon Buchanan. Even though I am not at work this week so don’t have to get up early, and even though I had a works dinner last night and went to bed late, I still managed to look out of the bedroom window at 7 this morning to see the moon had been half eaten by the earth’s shadow. I sat up several times until it was nearly all gone, but then I’m afraid I went back to sleep, great to see. I seem to remember seeing a lunar eclipse sometime near C’mas in the late 60s I think, I’m sure Tiger will have details!
The best I can come up with is the early hours of Saturday 19th December 1964. There was a total lunar eclipse at that time. Mid eclipse was 2.37am so one would have to have sat up to see it.

OG missed your puppy pics but read back. They are beauties and love the names. We haven't a puppy yet but we do have a name. Any new dog will be called "Radley" after said handbags of which I have a few. Like my shoes they have't been much in use over the last 8 weeks. a purse stuffed in a pocket has been the practical thing to do.
ANNETTE Heard that you have dreadful weather in S California at the mo. Fingers crossed you are ok
thanks for everyones "take care" warnings. just to let you know that I am still using crutches outdoors but at least being able to put right foot down makes life easier. OH says I am luckier than most, with having 4 legs and not 2!!!! (crutches and 2 legs) Anyway I am not risking going anywhere on my own at the mo, not even risking the back steps. My confidence is going to take some building up.
Good luck to everyone out and about today. OH is driving one of the support users to Fort William today to stay with his parents for Xmas. Don't think there are any travel probs and expect him home mid afternoon.
ALAN. think Dillon would not be happy with a coat, having said that he doesn't mind being covered with bedding so I might be wrong. He did look cute in his Christmas hat but OH binned it before I had a chance to take a photo.
Good morning Sue C and thanks for your kind words. We are just hoping that some sort of a thaw will set in soon so we visit.
How cute is Hope and what a lucky man Gordon Buchanan is to be in such close proximity to her. You can see the wonder in his face as Hope allowed him to be so close. I am really looking forward to the programmes.
Have a safe journey and a wonderful Christmas.

Thanks Tiger, we moved to the house I'm thinking of in 1962 but as I was only 9 in 1964 I wouldn't have been up! It may have been only a partial.

Good morning Heron 77 and thank you for your kind words.
I think it is cold here but it is certainly not minus 11 overnight. There seems to be no end in sight of this weather and until it improves my sister's family don't want us travelling up as they would only worry.
george g would like to thank you too for your kind thoughts.
Hope you both have a good Christmas followed by a Happy New Year.
Good morning Lynette lovely captures of the deer.
We will be going to see my sister as soon as we can and just hoping the weather will get a little better so it can be soon.
Morning all,
Thanks for the Christmas card OG and Eagle eye.
wendyb : T shirts and shorts are still a long way off I am afraid,
AQ : Thanks for the Australian version of the 12 days.
Weather is dull today and very icy underfoot. managed to take Hamish to the groomers this morning and will pick him up at 12 noon. I have bought him a coat for his Christmas but I think I may have problems getting him to wear it.
Dibnlib : Like Dillon, Hamish does not mind being covered with bedding.
I am still having AOL problems so I have kept this short.
Have a good day everyone.
