From the beginning of July, all continued to go well (with both PF4 and PF5 successfully taking their maiden flights on the 9th and 13th respectively) until the middle of the month. On the 15th, NC0, after attempting to snatch a meal from her eldest offspring, was forced off the nest by PF4. Sadly, this could have been the last sighting on camera this season of such a fabulous mum. Had she started her migration so early?
Without NC0 around, things on the nest then seemed to go into disarray. PF5 began to show a lot of dominance over his sister and, on the 21st, took control of the nest. After an early morning fish delivery on the 23rd and then being 'harassed' by PF4, who tried take his meal, he himself was ousted once he had flown off nest to eat in peace. Since then, PF4 has been in charge of the nest. On the 25th, PF5 made an heroic attempt to reclaim the nest from his sister, showing off his spectacular dive-bombing skills - however this did not work.
Laddie's fish deliveries to the nest have been fraught to watch and they have almost caused him harm. PF4 has been extremely overpowering and aggressive towards him in her attempts to claim most of the fish that he has brought to the nest. There is much worry over PF5 and whether he is being fed off nest. Hopefully, that is the case now that he has claimed his own 'patch' elsewhere on the reserve.
Early evening, on the last day of the month, PF4 was seen live on cam diving from the split birch to successfully catch her first fish, albeit a tiny one. She had been making many unsuccessful practise dives from the birch on previous occasions. An initial one, witnessed on the 18th, can be viewed in this SWT video.

Sandra, no, the first one wasn't a Greenfinch, It has a very pronounced eye stripe, and looks pretty greenish. Probably a Willow warbler.

A brief catch up...
As far as I have seen through scrolling through the footage, PF4's last visit to the nest perch, and the nest itself, was between 7:57 and 8:50
Just prior to her leaving
She flew up towards the cam...
...then veered off to the left
I could hear her calling faintly, and very briefly, in the far distance after she had left. I was watching 'live' at 9:59 when I heard her call before landing on the cam post
I assume she had flown from there at some point as, at 10:14, the cam zoomed over to the birch...
...then a quick zoom onto the nest cup before going back to the normal pre-set
Since then, on every check-in that I've been able to do, PF4 has not been on the birch and I haven't heard her calling.
Scene at 13:04
Where are you PF4 and, of course, Laddie?

Hello Keith,
Thank you so much for detailing your travels today and very much appreciate the information regarding nearby Lochs.
I found this on ©Google Maps which shows those you mentioned. It's great to gain the perspective of their proximity to LotL.
Once again, many thanks
Hopefully, the other Lochs will have a better supply of fish for the Ospreys - it's certainly a worry, Keith.
I was unable to post this earlier this evening. I'm unsure if this was an Osprey flying in the birch area at 20:06 - there were no calls.
It appeared from behind the greenery on the left
Veering off to the left
Then it went out of view after this pic
Scene, pre-night cam, at 22:00.
I'm feeling very concerned about Laddie, it's been 5 days since he last made an appearance on the nest... Hopefully there'll be a sighting of him and PF4 tomorrow. Thinking of our little Lowes family.
Morning All, One (PF4?) landed on the birch at 9:42, it had flown from around the corner.
Contact calls, rather than fish calls, made on landing
It flew off, heading to the right, over the Loch, at 10:03ish
Lost sight as it flew higher after this pic

I upped her voice a bit. I hope everyone enjoys watching the inactive dot on their screen
Seriously tho, I hope she's been eating out of our sight.
