  • I wonder if one of the reasons they are in no hurry to leave is not just that the fish are plentiful but that the weather will be good. It's far enough south that the warmth should last for weeks, even when August is over.

    Our herring gulls are red listed birds.  Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
