July proved to be a less nail-biting month than June. Brodie re-appeared early on the 1st and delivered fish (including flounder) to the nest every day bar 1 thereafter, with a record count of 7 on the 21st. Asha also fished and delivered a salmon on the 3rd, as well as quite a few sticks, not least one to replace the sticky-up stick on the nest that got removed on ringing day - 12th July. We have 2 boys, as only 7% of those surveyed had predicted. 2C5 (oldest) became Sid (Vicious) and 2C4 (youngest) is Harry (Nilsson). We had some cracking snaps particularly from the PTZ camera, a 2am fish, self-feeding started, and wing-flapping and helicoptering. Bets are on for a fledge or two very early in August. Sid is 58 days and Harry 56 days on the 1st of August

One last "event" for the day - two streaks that shot past the nest, this is one-eighth speed so you can imagine how fast they sped by:

Massive delay here - not only because I was so late logging on this morning, but also because of trying to ID the flyer in the sky, and then, after all finished and uploaded, I decided to go to KL5's arrival on the PTZ, which I hadn't "bothered" with, and discovering that, with the enhanced sound on the screen capture, snatches of skydancing could be heard! But the sound was 22 seconds behind, moreover the wind had to be defused somewhat...
So the vid was deleted from YouTube and re-edited and uploaded.

Camperson came on duty @ 11:00 and had a look at the usual perching trees, no-one found. I've checked the PTZ up to noon.
Reasons for editing - umpteen typos, reprehensible punctuation (lack of).
Well this is very strange - I must have been having hallucinations hours ago when I saw the PTZ picking up an Osprey here and there but mostly distant... I had packed up and expected to see chat 'n snaps when logging on just now but it's all empty here! I'm going to have to have a trawl and see what I find
I think Brodie was back earlier. 13.36 the PTZ appeared to go in search, and spotted bird on the lower branch of a remote tree. I am not sure it was an osprey though. The legs looked very long, and possibly with yellow legs 13.57 It flew off, but was spotted briefly in flight, then lost. 14.00 Found, and it took off again. Cam went in search, but it's hiding.
But:
15.23-15.50 the PTZ was fixed on the sticky band (pine marten deterrent) at the base of the nest tree. It then switched to the nest with an osprey at distance on it. Zoomed in and time to focus. The osprey, which I think was Brodie (it was difficult to say when his feathers were all being blown around). He was looking above and intruder chipping. The intruder was unseen. Eventually Brodie took off, perhaps to see the intruder off.

I couldn't believe my eyes! Why? What were we supposed to make out? Then I thought, maybe they're explaining to the visitors what they've done to keep the PMs at bay? Anyway, we were too late getting to the nest to see any of Brodie's fly-in on that cam.
My stream was glitchy, it's been hard navigating, this is the best I can do.
A thought, could the 13.36 bird seen a distance, be a sparrow hawk.one was seen on the feeder, posted by Scylla yesterday, as above?
