Link to Glaslyn - May 2023
The liaison of Aran with a new female, Elen, taking over from much-mourned MrsG, has been almost seamless.
They have laid 2 eggs, the first of which hatched @ 01:38 on 31 May. It's been fairly subdued so far, but here were a lively few moments:
IMAGICAT
Cams have been upfor 4+ hours, THIS is cam#1.
Rough snap of chicks being fed, it looks peaceful.
11 June
Daycam revealed a very misty morning!
While Elen took a break on the perch, one of the chicks had a poop - it's the upside-down V, it didn't show up well because of the angle (lack of), but I couldn't resist it of course.
Misty or not, Aran managed to bring in a headless whopper! Elen was slow to collect it, probably because she'd been eating a leftover:
Two on the perch and two in the nest. Just nice of Aran and Elen together but hope Elen provides shelter in the excessive sun days
Cam2 has been down for some time.
Cam1 is in a very sorry state, with what looks like poo-coated spider's web draped across the lens
Last evening Aran and Elen (L to R) were preening on the perch, this was a both-heads-up shot I managed to get via creeping slowly thru, and even then Aran is slightly blurred cos he was on his way to preening under his right wing - plus, their heads and tails were only just inside the cam frame so I couldln't give them any more space:
Ah well, Scylla it's a nice capture despite the poo. Like you I can only do so much in my study (upstairs) where my PC is cos of the heat it pushes out. Knowing how much tech you have dear makes me shudder to think of the heat you bear for us thank you
20 June am
Aran brought a stick and found some fish which Elen soon claimed:
21 June
Aran had TWO displaced feathers!
Tut, this has been sitting here for over 24 hours!
