Dyfi Ospreys 2023 season.

Interesting story today I found only because of the time stamp.

Idris (I think) dropped a headless fish near the nest. A Corvid found it on the grass and started eating it.

Idris had been on the high perch. He flew down to the low perch to the left of the nest. The split screen showed the now unattended fish.

and retrieved the fish as shown in the split picture.

As Idris flies up, the Corvid chases him.

Idris manages to shake it off and return to the perch. The Corvid returns to where the fish was dropped and finds a wee scrap left behind. 

Happy ending! 

11.14 Some nice close ups on the nest this morning. Telyn sees Idris incoming.

He brings a few dried grasses.

And again, lifting it partially up

He’s certainly a trier

But Telyn’s used to this and sits tight. Admitting defeat, off Idris goes. 

Unseen intruder at 13.48 Idris on the nest spies something and starts chipping

Telyn flies down from the perch to the nest. 

They swap places so Idris can go and make sure the intruder stays away.

All quiet now apart from the calls of a cuckoo.

It’s better now that the clock has been altered to a 24 hour version rather than an am and pm 12 hour.

Dyfi posted a video of blue 414 intruding there yesterday. I don’t know if this was before or after her visit to Glaslyn.

Earlier this afternoon, 14.43 to be precise according to the clock! Telyn on the nest, Idris with a freshly caught fish.

Cam zooms into Idris. I know the fish is a mullet, because the chat said so!

A wide head and fairly flat face, distinctive Mullet shape.

Thank you Richard , I’m going to say because the other fish I’ve seen were headless, it made them a bit trickier to identify!!!
