All the HISTORY of Balgavies Loch Ospreys can be found at the start of the 2019 THREAD.
It is a SWT Nature Reserve near Forfar, Angus, Scotland. There is no webcam on the nest, and there is no Visitor Centre, only a small Hide with limited car parking spaces.

The nest failed in 2020 and 2019 but the new male KR3 and Unringed female returned in 2021 and raised 3 chicks.
In 2022 the nest collapsed but the one chick Blue 640 survived and went on to be a well fed and cared for chick.
Mary Rogers along with her husband found the chick when the nest collapsed and set in motion a chain of events that resulted in it being ringed Blue 640 which has proved very beneficial as you can see from my following post. Mary named the chick "The Bairn"

Super, thank you! One of the snaps in particular - near the end - the indignant-looking youngster - tickled me no end

Darren sent me some lovely photos from Blue YD's nest when he visited a couple of days ago.
The nest amazes me as in March when I visited there was literally nothing in the tree as most the nest must have been blown down over the winter.
Also a wee video of the female feeding the chicks.
Darren sent me some photos he took at the loch yesterday. The chicks are wingercising, hope they all fledge safely.
What a terrific video ! And what truly cute juvies !!! Thank you Darren and all involved with the ringing very much indeed
Absolute amazing photos - what a wonder you are Darren, very many thanks indeed.
