Gardenbirder said:Just caught up with the new thread--thanks, Mary. Thanks everyone for pics and posts. I had not noticed until I enlarged the photo that 640 was standing on part of a fish. Hope JMD can photograph her again in the next year and that she is seen in the UK in 2024. She seems to have led a charmed life so far to have survived the nest collapse and her first migration journey.

Yes Ann I think she was one very pampered chick

Yesssss Happy Dance Darren has just let me know that Balgavies 2012 Chick BLUE YD has arrived back safely at his nest (undisclosed location). So thrilled.

Time for more happy dancing Sandra
Waiting on confirmation of Ring Number, but looks like KR3 may have arrived at Balgavies this morning.
LATEST FROM BALGAVIES LOCH OSPREYS FB
More happy dancing is just what is ordered, Mary, for that news! lol
Finger's are firmly crossed that the sighting is confirmed as it being KR3!
Darren was at the loch yesterday but even he could not get a clear photo of KR3's ring number. So we still await a definite confirmation.
In the meanwhile, some lovely photos from Angus Duncan of BLUE YD building up his nest. He has a lot of work to do, as when we were on holiday I went to his nest to see if he had returned but after sitting for over an hour he wasn't there. There didn't seem to be much left of the nest, but we can see he has been working hard from Angus's photos.
