After the tragedy of 2021, the 2022 Season was a great success, with 3 beautiful youngsters fledging and migrating - Blue 497, 498 and 499 (courtesy of Glider):
Here's to the safe return of our precious pair, MrsG (thank you MaryGK for the original snap) and Aran:

Today, this year's indispensable volunteers gathered to give us a Group Wave, and I thought we should pay tribute to them here:
(How sparse this seems for a season OP - but it's all I've got to give. I think we need the new thread sooner rather than later, being mindful of the likelihood of Dovey Devils and/or Clywedog Kids swooping in )

The rate Aran is performing, we'll have half a dozen eggs by tomorrow, I should think
Pics taken at around 14:50, just after Aran landed with a clod of nesting material

She quickly ate it at the side of the nest.

Aran started as he meant to go on - here's a short snatch of his skydance (and it's clear!), plus the commencement of a neverending series of matings
I can't wait for the HMURF to be given a name, but we'll obviously have to wait until they are very well settled in their partnership.
But, this is what she eventually got
Lots of mating and now a fat large fishie. G JNR can't have bend an ear ! Unlike dear Mrs G herself who hardly ever raised her voice for a fish, she somehow just knew Aran would provide
Here's the fishie Nah didn't work - red line interference
20 seconds of the 2 heads:

This was how it went - Aran didn't hand over the fish for ages, he ate the head and a bit more perhaps - but then our HMURF turned out not to be starving, most of the fish was left and I see that Aran attacked it later:
I may not have watched Aran with MrsG closely and for sustained periods at the start of a season, but I don't remember ever seeing him as excited as he is with this "MrsG Junior" - opinions, please?
Intruder ??? !!! ???
