  • And now we have another female, who is vocal, but probably a youngster

I was told about this earlier, but couldn't say anything. Now it has been posted elsewhere I have permission to let you know.
The heavily marked female was identified as a well established breeding female from another Welsh nest. She disappeared a couple of days ago and turned up at Glaslyn nest.
If you remember Zi turned up with a fish and landed next to her. He was chased off, and then the female left.
They both reappeared on their own nest.
So Z1 came to collect his wife

Oh that's super, thank you, Richard

I'm so sorry I missed the touching event.

Aran arrived flapping, then "Dot"... he's flown around and returned for a mating but I haven't been able to keep my eye on it - because of "things going on".

  • In reply to scylla:

I think there have been lots of mating attempts, I watched the latest one and she didn't lift her tail, yet again, and slightly flapped him off after a little while.

  • Just read that there was a successful attempt at last

and in reply to everyone  else

expect you all know by now and I'm the last to piece the Tegid and Mrs G jnr fracas together

bits from Chat ( but the  top ones disappear ) explain that Z1 turned up t Glaslyn from his nest way north  (not sure where exactly)  to claim back his mrs

Arrrrg .......mrs G jnr is Mrs Tegid . Lucky chap. Well, I can only hope  Aran's present gal will grow up nicer than she seems to be  doing and doesn't pooh in the nest

    I really am

  • On the other hand , maybe yet another unringed gal will usurp the present one and adore our gorgeous Aran from the get go (where are all these UNringed gals coming from anyway)

But  do we have to call  her Dot          and Why ?     doesn't make sense to me.  Two Dots at Dyfi was Two Dots for a reason, oh just , SIGH

  • Z1 AND Mrs Z1 are nesting in Wales and she has been raising for several years, so a lot of potential returnees.

    Very  many thanks Richards
