08.25.57 Louis delivers fish number one, headless. It's big and silvery so been classified as a Silver Tourist.
16.57.11 Fish number two, headless Brown Trout. Delivered eight and a half hours after fish one at 08.25.
It's been a very windy day with drenching downpours and strong gusts of wind, so perhaps that's why it took so long. Or maybe he's just having a rest after delivering five fish yesterday!
Nest One13.37
Affric returns, fish calling but no one's around. The weather changes and at13.56 she holds on as a storm passes over the nest
13.56 The same storm passes over Nest Two, and seems more ferocious maybe because of the closer up view, it's a pretty fierce few minutes.
Two birds seen flying in the background just before Dorcha returns and does her best to save the chick from the worst of the sudden storm.
Daily summary Saturday 1st July 2023 Wind, rain, more rain, few fish and little action was how today panned out. Garry turned up early on Nest One but no sign of him when Affric turned up later so there was no fish for her. None seen on nest cam, that is. She had to sit out a severe squall which passed over the nest, as did the chick over on Nest Two, but the chick had the benefit of mum Dorcha providing some shelter, and dad Louis reliably providing meals. Despite the bad weather, Louis managed to deliver two fish to the nest, taking the tally to 220 since he returned to the nest on 2nd April. There were a few problems accessing Woodland Trust's website today after the planned maintenance upgrade, but it was only a temporary blip and all is back to normal now.
