Thursday 29th June Nest One 17.01.30 Fish number three, headless Silver Tourist
Thursday 29th June 18.47
Four week old chick looks enormous exercising its new wings - hatched 31st May so four weeks on the 28th - phenomenal rate of growth, a privilege to be able to observe every step of the way.
Thursday 29th June 22.22
On a very wet night, dorcha makes such a good mumbrella, the chick seems invisible.
Friday 30th June announcement:
05.59.27 Breakfast arrives despite the wet and windy conditions. Louis delivers a small whole Brown Trout
Nest One 07.55.30
Fish for all! Garry arrives with a headless trout, Affric grabs it immediately and goes off with it. Black birds - crows? - seen chasing about as she departs towards the right of view.
07.56.23 An Osprey flies right to left across the cam view quite near the nest, Garry doesn't react so probably Affric. He stays on the nest preening and tidying.
08.34.00 Fish number two, whole Brown Trout, still flapping slightly. We're 'treated' to the sight of Dorcha demolishing the head in full on camera view. The chick is given quite big bits, awkward pieces, but has no difficulty with them. Chick devours the eyeballs yummmm....
Nest One 12.19
Garry returns, lands on Affric's back, she shrugs him off, not interested, was that a quick nip she gave him?
12.26 Garry departs in the direction of the loch, Affric remains on the perch
