Dorcha bringing her one and only fish on 18th August 2022 before departing and not being seen again
Louis incubating the eggs while Aila is seen flying with a fish in the misty distance on 9th May 2020.
All captures in whatever format are copyright Woodland Trust - with many thanks for allowing captures from their nest cam livestreams
Didn't see whichever chick having a feed. I assume the eldest chick got first dibs. Thank you Geemeff
Well good oh to Affric accepting the fish - thank you LV0 and may your courtship win your lady over. Thanks Geemeff
Tuesday 20th 15.43.19 Louis brings fish number two, another Silver Tourist
Tuesday 20th 16:01:31 Major milestone achieved as the chick self-feeds! Not just a nibble but a proper tucking-in, without any help from mum.
Tuesday 20th Nest One 16.10 LV0 brings Affric a second fish, but there's an intruder alert (slo-mo zoom)
Tuesday 20th Nest One 16.22 It's not an intruder - it's Prince!!! A very welcome reappearance by Prince after several days absence.
He lands on the high perch, and seems to take little notice of LV0 who's mantling. (zoom)
20th June 20.14 Louis returns to the nest and grabs a fish supper, taking the big remnant of the huge fish he'd brought earlier. He departs with it and that's the last sighting of him today.
Daily summary Tuesday 20th June 2023
Night cam comes on ending a day which was much better weather-wise but still quite windy. This didn't prevent either Louis or LV0 fishing, both brought fish to their respective nests - two fish for Affric, and two fish for Dorcha, taking the Nest Two tally to 185. No Nest One tally as yet as there's no resident family there, but with all the visits recently it's looking very positive for next year. But who will Affric choose? Today saw the welcome reappearance of her mate, Prince, but it's his rival LV0 who's been her main supplier of fish. Or at least, that's what's been seen on Osprey Cam, we can only speculate what might be occurring away from the cameras. The events at Nest Two are all very obvious - the chick is growing by the minute with blue feather shafts and white clown feet visible, and another milestone was reached today with the first proper self-feeding.
Update on Thursday's website maintenance: while the comments shut down temporarily, the fish count will move over to Adam's site which also operates on the Hyvor system so should be easy to use, although an initial registration might be needed. Thank you Adam!
