2022 return dates: LM12 (Laddie) - 13th March; NC0(16) - 23rd March
Looking forward to welcoming back Laddie and NC0 to this wonderful location at Loch of the Lowes. Will Laddie, in his 12th season, beat his earliest arrival date that he achieved last year? Will NC0, her 4th season, be heard before she is seen on cam? Could we see the return of their 2021 offspring, LR1 and LR2? Here's hoping they have safe, spring migrations so as to grace our screens once again.

There was a small, whole fish delivery from Laddie at 10:05
Cam zoomed in
Transferred into her talons
A little nibble of the fish before leaving
NC0 on the birch
NC0 was very wet when she returned at 11:20
12:30 Laddie took over incubation after bringing a piece of bark to the nest
13:17 Laddie continuing to incubate, I assume NC0 is on the birch

NC0 returned from her break at 13:40. The cam zoomed in shortly after her arrival
NC0 was quick to protect the eggs from the rain
The cam remained zoomed in on NC0 for a little while more before panning back out
16:18 NC0 has continued to incubate since that changeover; I can't see that Laddie has been back to the nest during a quick scroll back through the footage
17:14 A much better sized fish delivery from Laddie - it was headless
An appetiser for NC0
Laddie had some fish stuck to his beak
Cam remained zoomed in. TBC
Cont'd...
Having a shut-eye
And again
A quick check of the eggs as he altered his position
He made a number of attempts to remove the growth from the stick
Finally stripped
Another check of the eggs
Dozing again
Cam panned out at 17:49
18:17 The current scene
19:38 NC0 left the birch area and headed towards the nest. She flew low behind it before landing on top of the cam a few seconds later
19:43 NC0 chased a crow! The crow was vocal
Turning towards the right
There was a sharp turn and both headed back again
NC0 passed the crow
The crow then chased NC0 to the nest!
She made her way around from the left to the right edge of the nest to access the nest cup
Laddie flew off
After a quick flight over the Loch, he settled on the birch
20:54 Both in their same positions
Night cam came on at 21:21, a little earlier this evening

Good morning Sheila and All,
My pleasure, Sheila
NC0 rose from the eggs at 4:42 and left the nest
The eggs were alone for a few minutes before Laddie arrived. He made some soft contact calls
He hadn't settled for very long when NC0 flew towards the nest perch...
But aborted her landing after making the slightest touchdown
Laddie continued to incubate until NC0 arrived back at 7:13
7:55 I hope the rain eases off today
Off to work. BFN
I'll add some pics and a report later showing an unringed intruder that landed on the nest perch this morning. NC0 was incubating at the time. BFN
10:20ish NC0 was on alert just before an unringed intruder landed on the perch
NC0 flapped at it, the intruder flew to the other end of the perch
NC0 shimmied down on the eggs
I thought the unringed intruder was going to leave but decided not to
The cam zoomed in
It flew off
*The cam had been freezing/pixelating so the time mentioned is an approximation
