19.42 Olwen flies onto the nest to find the fish has gone. She looks around where the fish was and finds a scrap to eat.
She hasn’t even swallowed it when there is Osprey calling above followed by a cheeping. Olwen pancakes.
LM6 immediately flies onto the nest (partially on top of Olwen) and is in defensive mode, cheeping and flapping.
This just lasts a few seconds as the intruder can be heard flying over and away into the distance. LM6 stands up which allows Olwen to get up too.
Olwen can then swallow the piece of fish she still had in her mouth! She then quickly leaves the nest, followed soon after by LM6. Alert over.

Very well done, Glider!
Thanks Sandra, I couldn’t have done it without your help. ️
Tuesday 2nd August
Good morning everyone, I woke up far too early this morning and here I am!
Checking last night’s footage, no one slept on the nest overnight. The weather looked pretty bad.
05.10 cam switched to day cam and it is still raining and sounds very windy. 05.45 no one has been to the nest yet.
LS back up at 10.33 no ospreys on the nest but there is the remains of a fish from earlier and 2 ospreys in the tree watching, This is getting to be a favourite spot for them to perch.
11.33 first Osprey on the nest is Gelert, who announces his arrival.
He spies the fish and goes over to collect it.
Gelert transfers the fish from his beak to talons and starts to eat.
An Osprey flies by from the forest to over the water as Gelert feeds. The other Osprey is still in the tree from early morning.
Gelert moves position with the fish.
He tries a few times to swallow the tail and has to eat a little more each time until it’s small enough to go down his throat.
Fish finished at 12.50. Gelert flies off into the forest 15 minutes later calling as he goes. One of the other ospreys replies and they have a wee “chat!”
