A super round-up, Glider! Thank you so much for all of the coverage, you've done a fab job!

Safe onward journeys to them all and hope to see LM6 and LJ2 back at Llyn Brenig next season.

Thanks Sandra and thanks for all your support throughout.

  • Sunday, 11th September

Good morning. Just looking back over websites etc and found this had been posted on the North Wales Wildlife Trust website on 31st August. I’ve always had trouble accessing this site with the page freezing but it was good for me today! Better late than never!

North Wales Wildlife trust also posted a timeline of events for this year, which they added to their earlier post on their website.

I didn’t know LJ2 was spotted on the nest on the 7th September?

I wonder where all our beautiful birds are now? Hopefully safe and well on their journeys, having good success with fishing.

  • Welsh water have started preparing the nest at Brenig for the 2023 season. They have fitted a metal sleeve to the post fitted a new perch and tidied up the nest. They found LM6's Darvic ring which broke last season and will put it in display in the visitor centre.
  • Thank you Glider and AG for your respective updates. It won't be long now!! Although the wait for arrivals is always and anxious time....Will they, won they!

  • Hello, nice to be back

Good to see the nest being readied for our birds. Funnily, today was the first of me checking the Llyn Brenig Facebook page and it was good to read what you posted AG. The only other things they mentioned was the tree felling work and some security measures which I’ve cut and copied :-

“Smartwater has been deployed again this year, which will forensically mark anyone that touches the items we have marked.
Felling work, consistent with the recommendations of the Osprey Conservation Plan, has now been completed, and replanting with native species will be finished before the ospreys come back.”

It’ll be interesting to see how it all looks when the webcam goes live.

I do hope they have a better internet connection this season - it's the one bane on their sterling efforts and the lovely birds.
